My 31 year old son is terminally ill with brain cancer. How am I meant to cope with losing my beautiful son. From a devastated Mum
I have never been in this situation, but did lose my mam recently. I don’t think we ever really cope, it’s more about trying to find a new way to navigate life when they are gone. That is something I’m struggling with and am going to get help. Are there any groups you could join with people who are in the same situation? Sometimes they can be a great source to help as well as a great comfort because they have a shared experience.
Can I suggest that you take lots of photos, record his voice (something I did with my mam and it’s comforting being able to hear it), write letters to him even if you never give them to him. Spend as much time as possible with him, and tell him everything you need to tell him. I know with my mam, things went downhill quite quickly, and knowing that we’d said what we needed to made things easier when she was no longer able to speak to me. I miss her terribly and talk to her every day even now she’s gone.
Hugs to you at what is an absolutely awful time x
Julie555,
I have no words for you as I completely understand how you must be feeling as I lost my 25 year old son to cancer that had spread to his brain and we were also told it was terminal.
There really are no words in this totally devastating situation and all I can say is you are in my thoughts at this truly awful time xx
I am so sorry, thinking of you.
