I lost my partner in april im still so traumatised .I have his 18 years old cat who has many problems .Hes passing blood doasnt groom himself .I know i have a decision to make soon when i take him to the vet .But im so anxious and upset .my friend says its my last link with my partner .What would he do for the best .We dont know if they are in pain do we .Keep asking for answers from him but there are none .Any advice or thoughts please.xxx.
Take him to the vet, as passing blood is not ok. They will then advise you on next steps.
Thanks i know i have an appointment tommorow for him .
Yes, I keep my finger’s crossed for you. Losing a pet is devastating. Along when it comes with the added grief of being such a link with your partner. If the worst comes to the worst, I do believe our pets make it to the other side, so he may meet again with your partner. Lovely thoughts. I’ve seen some posts on Youtube about dogs in heaven making contact with their owners here. Brings tears to my eyes. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. xx
Thankyou for your kind words .I do beleve in the after life too it brings us comfort .He is very old and also been through the trauma .my partner died at home he was in the hospital bed in the living room on oxygen for 3 weeks before he died and the cat wasnt allowed in the room even though he wanted too be with him ,so sad animals have feeling too .xxx
Yes, they definitely do have feelings. They have a spirit that is extremely sensitive as well. You’ve probably heard that when people pass, an animal will often wander around the home making noise, because they can pick up on spirit activity. It does give me comfort. I do hope you get a little positive news at the vets. xxx
Hi, I had the same with an elderly cat who my husband loved dearly, I didn’t want to have to make the decision but in the end I felt I’ve got to put my cat before my feelings so I agreed with the vet’s recommendation, it hurt but I knew I had to do right by her.
Thanks and your right im dreading going to the vet tbh but we will see what he says and go from there .Its whats best for the cat , i dont want him suffering .its horrible isnt it .Xxx
It sure is but I thought at least my husband hasn’t got to make the decision and suffer the grief of her loss.
