My sister

My sister passed away 6 months ago and I am finding it very difficult. My brother was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer recently and this is only making things worse. My sister was a little older than me and due to family circumstances as a child she became my main carer and as such a true inspiration. I was so much closer to her than my Mum.And I do miss her so much. My wife has been supportive, but sees thing differently to me. She has a very Black and white attitude .And tells me that my Sister would want me to carry on. Of course she would! Now I find myself dreaming a lot about her,and it is scaring me a little, I feel as if she is trying to tell me something.

Hello @Roo62 ,

I can see that you’re new to the community, so I wanted to say that I am so sorry for the loss of your sister and the diagnosis of your brother that brings you here.

I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I wanted to share a few Sue Ryder resources with you that may help right now.

I am so sorry for the pain you are going through.
We are a community that listens and hopefully gives support and understanding of the emotions that you have no control over.
My husband is the one i am missing so very much and its my sister who has been my strength.
She has COPD and has been struggling more than usual and i had to call the ambulance for her not too long ago which scared me. She spent a week in the hospital and the thought of losing her as well really frightens me.
Please keep talking to us, if we can help by ranting here, we will.
Take care.
Nicky
