My sons ventilator will be turned off tomorrow

don’t even know how I am typing these words. My heart is completely shattered, and I feel physically sick and hollow inside.
My only child just turned 30 last Sunday, and we spent the day together in London. On Tuesday, I got the frantic call that he had suffered a cardiac arrest caused by low potassium from D&V. He was put on a ventilator, but after stopping his sedation two days ago, there are no signs of him waking up.
Tomorrow, they are doing final tests to legally state he is brain dead, and his ventilator is being turned off.
This is so hard to write. I am brokenhearted, there is a crushing weight on my chest, and I just want my boy to wake up. I don’t know how to face tomorrow. Please hold us in your thoughts.

Oh I m so sorry, my heart goes out to you. I used to work in intensive care. It was so sad watching relatives go through that. There are no words I can say in consolation.. I hope you have support at this horrible time. Take care.

I send love , hugs and support across the internet. This is hearbreaking and nothing can ease your pain right now but if it helps remember there will be so many people you don’t even know, thinking of you.

I hope you have the support you need now and in the future.
