Hello suzylou, I’m sorry you have had to join this forum. Has your partner been told it is terminal? I do not know much about that particular type of cancer so please forgive my ignorance. My husband passed away in April this year from lung cancer . I had taken videos that I now listen to so I may remember his voice. I took photos of his hands, I just wanted to be able to remember them! Silly maybe but I’m glad I did. Before the lung cancer spread to his brain, we had many deep and meaningful conversations, all ending in how much we loved each other . I told him everything. On a practical note, we had to discuss some upsetting things, but it needed to be done . I stopped work and was his carer from the time he was diagnosed until he died in my arms in the early hours of the morning. I never set foot out of the house for the entire 9 weeks and I tried to treasure every second. There will be people here who understand. Sending love at such a difficult time, Jo

Hi, we have been told it’s not curable he has lost his speech and eye sight is double so we have little means to communicate he was misdiagnosed in April with a neurological condition called myasthenia gravis when in actual fact it was cancer.

Really sorry to hear that…I can imagine how difficult it is for both of you… life can be so cruel. I hope you are able to take comfort from some of the people and their experiences here. Whilst we can not stop the roller coaster that you are on, we may be able to help you cope with the journey…jo

Hi yes it’s terminal we both don’t want to know how long he has got left in this world and I would be counting down the days or weeks whichever it is

Hi suzylou, I can understand your decision not to know 'how long '… clock watching could take over living. Make the most of every second and make the most of technology. We will be here if and when you need us… Jo
