After losing my dear husband im not felt like doing my usual hobby of painting so been looking for a new hobby to while away a few hours found something i really enjoy its called needle felting its not to difficult but painful if you stab your finger (done it a few times) . Just takes my mind off things for a while and find it very relaxing here are a few of my finished items
Hi misprint , they are wonderful, your so clever . I need to find a hobby . I did use to read a lot ,but can’t concentrate now ,the words don’t go in . I always said my husband was my hobby . Glad they help you , xtake carex
Wonderful work, @Misprint
I have tried needle felting and it is very therapeutic for releasing stress and tension - all that stabbing.
My go to hobby is crochet but I cant concentrate on a complicated pattern at the moment - Granny square blanket is my limit!
I have just decided to join a local ladies choir - not sure of my singing ability but the group is very friendly and welcoming.
@Broken2222 - I wonder what hobby you will choose.
I have a Jack Russell terrier so she keeps me busy and gives me purpose to get up in the morning. My main hobby is crochet and I enjoy baking and gardening.
My friend reminded me about latchhooking and tapestry which are very relaxing - she bought me an embroidery kit about 4 years ago which I’ve promised to start.
What about creative writing or poetry if you enjoyed reading.
Hi, I do crotchet, I made a baby blanket for a friend of grandaughters. But was worried I wouldn’t get it finished in time . I thought the baby would be at school before I finished it ! I’m hopeless at spelling even with spell check .so I don’t think any sort of writing is for me . I hate cooking and now have to do garden what I also don’t like . I do like music ,but I’m a terrible singer. I think I’m good at negative thoughts .maybe I should go into politics .lol. xtake care x
Beautiful. Just wondering are they kits . I love owls . I could maybe try one of those . If it’s easy . I’m not very talented . Xtake carex
Some are kits but some i made out of my head . It is pretty easy just have to keep fingers out of way . Just stab wool into shape try a kit first see how u get on . X
Thank you for that link . I’m going to get son to order me one . See how it goes .
What a talented lady! I love the Hare! Is he for sale? Xx❤️
Afraid not Dottie my mums claimed him but thanku for liking it xx
@Misprint These are great. I love the Mole!.!. Martin used to work night shift when we first started courting so I’d come home from work to see him all cooried up in bed. I used to call him Penfold (for anyone old enough to remember Dangermouse!). Ah it brought back a happy memory.
I have to let you know that between your therapeutic stabbing description and @Broken2222 's specialism in megative thoughts i actually laughed out loud for the first time in months. Thank you
Glad i made you laugh xx at least i made someone happy today
I just love what you have achieved. I agree it’s nice to do something, to focus on something else rather than sadness. My husband suffered from mnd and dementia. After caring for him for so long I need a hobby, I need to meet others. It’s not easy but I know I need to try.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. I have been widowed just over two years, after a year I joined my local U3A and it was the best thing I could do. I have made several new friends and learned new things, most of us are on our own and have even started our own Rummicub group. It doesn’t stop me missing the love of my life but it certainly helps. Big hugs to all.
Yes I’ve joined U3A. I’m joined a camera and writing club. It’s a start for me. I’ve also gone to my local church. It’s nice meeting others and having a sing which I think is uplifting.
When my husband was in hospital then a carehome I just started to go out and try and do normal things. Have to say since he died in November I’m finding it hard to go out alone. I’m sure it will pass.
Hugs to everyone xxx
