My dad has a new partner after my mum died in 2020.

Any tips of how to manage this.

He is trying to be very quick with things. I met her couple times and she is lovely but sometimes i just want to be with my dad alone for quality time and he is finding this hard to understand. I try to explain but its like he doesn’t hear.

I am happy he is happy but don’t think I am ready to have her at every family event

just cause he has a new partner doesnt mean you cant have quality time with him, same as you always have. you both have seperate lives, he doesnt want to be on his own any more and i dont blame him if he is happy. there is no time limit on when you can find someone else after your partner dies.
