One of those days

It’s been one of those days. I am in the middle of sadmin, the postman brought details of new bank account with login details. It didn’t work, so I uninstalled and reinstalled app, tried again, got frozen out. Phoned helpline, they texted a new passcode, still nothing. The guy on the phone clearly thought I was an idiot (I am). He said no problem, he would do it his end. He couldn’t get in either. On hold for 10 minutes and then he told me it is because it is an in-branch only account. So why did they send me login instructions? That’s another hour of my miserable life I won’t get back!
Then I decided to have a shower, halfway through the water stopped. Head covered in shampoo. Phoned the supplier, water came back on at a dribble. Noticed that the water wasn’t draining away properly. The shower trap needed cleaning. I already knew my husband did all the grotty jobs, but I wasn’t prepared for the disgusting, slimy, grey, smelly mess that filled the trap.
Then the landline rang, ran downstairs naked, it stopped. Answerphone message kicked in with my husband’s voice. Had a bit of a cry, then my mobile phone in the bathroom rang. Dashed back upstairs and it was the Respite Centre where my daughter is staying tonight. I sent her prescribed toothpaste in but the serial numbers on the tube and the box don’t match, so they can’t use it.
I am going to switch off the phones and lie in a darkened room now.

Sorry you’ve both had such a rubbish day.

No need for apologies; we’re all on a very hard journey, and the problems that crop up along the way just drag you down even more. xx

My shower trap was cleaned today as well. Last few days ended up paddling at end of shower. I am lucky enough to have a good friend called Caroline who cleans for me once a week. My hand is too big to get down the trap and I can’t really bend either so she did the smelly disgusting job. I know the feeling with the phone. Mine always rings when I am in the bathroom. I just let it ring. If it’s important they will leave a message or ring back. Amazon delivery drivers also tend to turn up when I am in the loo as well.
I remember all too well the early days of sadmin. The only thing I really had a problem with was a 1 year bond. Could only be closed online. Had been transferred into my name. Only password I didn’t have. Got a brilliant lady on the phone who did everything she could to transfer the money. When she couldn’t she sent me all the details and a video showing me how I could do it.
I was in this kind of support role for an accounting software package so recognise how it should be done.
