Our new drop-in Grief Kind Spaces

Hello,

I wanted to let you know about our new Grief Kind Spaces.

Our Grief Kind Spaces are weekly, in-person drop-in sessions held in the local community and run by trained volunteers. The sessions provide a safe, informal and supportive place for people to come together and share their experiences of grief, helping attendees to feel heard and less alone.

The sessions are welcoming, inclusive and open to anyone who is over 18 and has experienced a bereavement, whether you want to attend regularly to connect with others in similar situations or just drop in for a quick chat.

We have seven hospices and palliative care hubs across the UK and our aim is to introduce one Grief Kind Space in the area around each centre over the coming months. The spaces are volunteer-led, with volunteers receiving training and guidance to help attendees connect with each other and share their experiences of grief through peer-to-peer support.

Grief Kind Spaces are for informal peer support, and not a replacement for counselling. If you would like more formal bereavement support, please visit our Online Bereavement Counselling Service or other support services.

There is no Grief Kind Space in my area - where can I find local support?

The AtALoss website lists local bereavement support across the UK. You can visit their website and choose your area from the drop-down list to see what support is available.

I saw this on Facebook a while ago, the one at Milton Ernest is not far from me, when I retire at the end of this year I thought about going, I can’t at the moment due to work.
Thank you for telling us about them
