Overwhelmed

Hello! I lost my Mum in June to cancer, I lost my Dad & uncle to cancer in 2014 so this certainly isn’t my first rodeo. I know it’s early days but I’m so overwhelmed, the thought of never seeing her again or speaking to her just sends me into total panic. I’m trying to be positive , as far as death is concerned she wasn’t in pain we hadn’t got to the point of the driver she closed her eyes in her beloved home and passed. I know grief is linear but I’m hoping that maybe people could share some coping mechanisms . I have returned to work which isn’t easy being in a public facing position but staying home there was little to no distractions

Hello @Charlotte74,

I’m part of the Online Community team and I can see that you are new to the community - I’d like to thank you for bravely starting this thread and sharing how you are feeling. I’m so sorry to hear about the recent loss of your mum, and of the loss of your dad and uncle. Most community members have sadly experienced the death of a loved one and so will understand some of what you are going through.

I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I wanted to share a few Sue Ryder resources with you that might be helpful.

I really hope you find the community helpful and a good source of support and I also hope you feel you can access more support should you need it.

Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone.

Take care,

Alex
