There’s two dates on the calendar that I hate , the day I lost her and today ,her birthday. Shes been gone three years now. She would have been sixty eight today. My heart broke on the day she passed away October18th and it continues to break . God bless everyone on this site.

Morning Peterj, Yes these once special dates are now awful to say the least. Mine are 14th February Valentines day when Pete finished his 9am shift at the Fire Station and we were married in a simple ceremony at midday, many moons ago. Then 19th Feb. his birthday when we usually went to the coast for a walk on the beach and a sandwich and cup of tea. How I long for the past when life was easy. Will think of you today and others in the same old boat we try so hard to steer. Love Jenny

I can relate to everything said so far. Pretty much the entire calendar has become one awful anniversary after another - the day my partner died, her birthday, Christmas and New Year of course, the last time we went to our favourite restaurant, even the fast-approaching Pancake Day (because she made the world’s best pancakes - trust me on this!). I think all you can do on these dates is try to be kind to yourself and find something at least slightly enjoyable to do as far, as you’re able.
