The funeral director says I will have a spray of flowers from me and that there will be a card to write something. What do you say on a card after all these years?!! Words can’t expresshow I feel and how he is missed.
@Genie1 I made my own double heart spray of white and pink roses. It was obviously from me so there was no card on it. Don’t feel that you need to write anything, you know they are from you and what others make of them is not important.
I suggest you put just that
“Words can’t express how I feel”
I used lots of roses from our garden that he had planted and just wrote on a tag see you Peter.Don’t worry what anyone thinks.
Thank you all for your suggestions. I have had a really bad day today and can’t stop crying.
I wrote a winnie the pooh quote on 1 side (life will be kind of gloomy without you thats what happens when the sunshine goes away) and on the other side just said thank you for the adventure until we meet again for the best adventure yet on the other
We are big disney fans and have young kids
I also picked flowers from our garden and ones people had given to me, tied a big bow. It was bright and cheery as he would have liked it and I didn’t write a card, but the Winnie the Pooh quote is simply lovely x
There are some really good winnie the pooh quotes when your stuck. How lucky i am to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard. Is another good one
They’re made for us. Thank you x
As much as I never ever expected to be creating or coordinating my Husband’s funeral in the next 25 years, I made the focus him, me and love and with a patient and organised Funeral Director and Vicar, I am proud of what I did for my great Husband, there were personal touches that were befitting a man that was special to me and those who knew him. I know my Ray and so, with guidance, I instinctively knew what he would be happy with. I guess that’s a separate message to anyone going through this unexpected task currently. Sorry, maybe that should have been a new topic x
Hi Genie,
I had a lovely wreath made and had a Kingfisher emblem put in the flowers which said ‘Pete’s gone fishing’ and now its on top of the mirror in the hall and how I wish it was true… I can’t remember exactly what I wrote on the card as it was sometime ago sadly but the Kingfisher I look at every day…Thoughts to everyone on this wonderful forum. Love Jenny.
