Thoughts Of You
I thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday
And the days before that too.
Sometimes I think of you in silence
But often I end up whispering your name,
My mind becomes overwhelmed with memories
As I stare at your picture in a frame.
Sometimes thoughts of you transport me
Abduct my body and my mind,
And take me to a wondrous place
Where I can feel and taste your lips on mine.
But then something always happens
That disrupts my thoughts of you so dear,
Then returns me to this dreaded place
Where dreams give way to reality…you’re not here.
