Dear Allison I think we have a habit of looking for any reason to blame ourselves. Our minds seem to find pleasure in beating ourselves up for things we could have done differently. We wouldn’t do these things if we weren’t madly in love with them. If our loved ones were standing infront of us now would they blame us ? Of course not we would be hugging our loved ones to pieces. We know this is true so we shouldn’t spoil our beautiful memories of our love one. Thinking of you and sending hugs

Wishing you all the best Tom

Hi and sorry for your loss, I was away for a couple of days fixing up my old flat so my niece and her friend could stay there. I came back to find my partner dead by the back door. I feel so guilty for putting my family first. What makes it worse is that they stayed there rent free, didn’t look after the flat properly, items were broken or missing and it was really dirty when they moved out. It made me see my niece in a completely different light. It’s been a year now since my partner died and I’m still struggling. Your feelings are understandable. Take care.
