Good morning everyone. Today would have been our 40th wedding anniversary. My wonderful husband passed away suddenly on 13 December last year. It was such a shock; completely unexpected. I’m having family and close friends around today for a small celebration - couldn’t just let 40 years pass by. Our daughter and son-in-law have bought me a pair of ruby earrings. My daughter is convinced her dad helped her choose them. I will wear them with pride today. I miss him every second of every day and feel my life is over; how I hate my new life. But I know my husband will be here today with us all and we’ll raise a glass of champagne to him and remember that wonderful day 40 years ago. I love you Mick

I’m so sorry to read that your dear husband passed away before your Ruby wedding anniversary. I think you are brave to continue to celebrate your wedding day of 40 years ago and right to do so.
My husband died suddenly and unexpectedly last year too. It is heartbreaking and very difficult to come to terms with. Only those who have been through this can understand what we are going through. Thinking of you on your special day xx
