I’ve woken up to the usual sad and empty feeling…but it feels even worse this morning. Think it’s going to be a day in bed day . I’m so tired and definitely
Dear Karen I’m sorry to hear that you are suffering today. If you need to stay in bed then make sure you eat and drink and look after yourself. You should also be in contact with your GP if you are finding that you aren’t coping. Thinking of you and sending hugs ![]()

The grief is particularly bad today Tom. It’s still very early day’s for me I know. Also the funeral is obviously on my mind . Just want it over and done with. It’s on the 13th of July. Don’t know how I’m going to get through the day
I admire you folks just trying to get on with your daily lives I really do.x
Dear Karen you are at the beginning of an unbearable time in life. Those early months were terrible for me too. I would just get out and walk for miles crying all the way trying to hide my face from others. As soon as I was home I would go again until I couldn’t move. Then it was bed and repeat. I can understand how difficult it must be for you to be waiting for the funeral. I think I prefer the Spanish way, even though it’s terribly quick, normal the day after but I didn’t think I could handle it but some how I did.
I hope you find some peace. I hope someone is taking care of you. Keeping your in my thoughts and prayers ![]()

Dear Karen the first few weeks after my husband’s sudden death I was miserable crying
and screaming, time would go by really slow, a day felt like a week
I started listening to novels on audio books to keep me from going crazy an am still doing that!
Do consider going to your GP and asking for something to help you,
Wishing you all the best
Hi, and sorry for your loss. Those early weeks and months are just so traumatic. I was in a complete state of anxiety. I couldn’t talk to people and my memory was non existent. I had total brain fog, kept losing things.i knew my lovely partner had died but at the same time I couldn’t grasp the reality.
I hope you have some support from family or good friends. You will get through the funeral, that was the day I felt calmest during that awful early period following his death. The grieving will go on but as the months pass you will be able to function better. Take care.
Hi @Piclke
The early days of grief are terrible and it’s hard to know how to get through the days .It really is baby steps just focus on one thing a day. Make sure you are eating. drinking and resting. Like @Anita_66 has said go and see your gp. I hope you have people round you to support you .

Thank you. My greif is intolerable today. I’ve spent most of the day in bed. I can’t ever go out of the house
I apologise by the way posting on the general chat…I’m aware this is supposed for more positive supportive comments and to cheer each other up !
Hi @Piclke
I was like that for the first 2 -3 months into my grief . I wanted to lock my self away from the world. And felt lost and alone . It will slowly get more bearable. I did go to see my gp , I went every month for 4 months . I hope you find some peace

That’s what I want to hear…that it will eventually get a little easier to bear although grief never leaves you obvious
Hi @Piclke
It will become more bearable
I am not as far into this journey as some on here. We all cope differently. If you look back at some of the older posts from @PeachesDixon . She is a great inspiration. and done some really helpful posts . Far now take slowly.
Dear Karen you post wherever you want and what ever you want. The idea here is that you can say how you feel without worrying about anything. If you feel bad say so that way we can try and help. You are at the worst point but I am sure in a few months you will feel much better and probably helping out others who are suffering. Wishing you all the strength you need and sending hugs

Thing is Anita I want to cry but I can’t. I just feel numb and emense grief and sadness. I haven’t done anything today just been wallowing. It’s so hard as you know and for the other’s in this group ![]()
Hi Karen, the first week I felt it harder to cry, I mostly screamed - only later did I start crying proper tears and I have to say, a good cry is cathartic and make me feel better than just screming and wallowing
