She was only 55

My mom passed on Friday. Only 55 years old. So bright, so vivacious, she was full of life. She was smart, unintentionally hilarious, determined and talented. It just doesn’t feel right. Everything in her house is like she’s just popped out to the shops, not like she’s never coming back. Her parcels keep arriving and letters. I just can’t cope with the fact that we’ll never talk again. Or celebrate our birthdays together. We used to always hold hands into the New Year and watch the sunrise. She’s my best friend. My heart is shattered. I’m so scared and I want my mother.

Hi kekeli
I lost my dad on Valentine’s Day this year at aged 56 and also it was completely unexpected.
I was at uni at the time so coming home was super hard. Seeing how he’d left his coat on the hooks like normal and his work study exactly how he left it.
He was also a very determined man.
It’s a bizarre feeling. I also I feel scared and confused, not knowing what life is going to be like without him.
Your mum sounds absolutely lovely who clearly is a special person.
I’ve found going on long walks chatting to my dad as if he was there, filling him in on what has happened, helps a lot when I miss him that little bit more.
Sending love.
