A close friend of mine wrote a poem about the silence of loneliness that we all experience living with grief.
He wanted to turn the poem into a song so used AI to give him some melody ideas to use before he got round to recording it with his band.
Silence
Silence hurts, I say I am fine,
Yes, it’s a lie, but it’s hard to explain
The heavy weight of God’s design,
The secret ache of a hidden pain.
I keep the words deep inside my chest,
To save them from the storms I bear,
But keeping the peace is a lonely test,
When no one knows the grief down there.
Yet quiet nights eventually clear,
The heavy clouds begin to part,
As gentle grace replaces fear,
And brings a stillness to my heart.
Been sombre times, when darkness filled my pining heart.
Yet with each new dawn, old sol fed light and warmth into my injured soul.
There is a very special other who would see my pain
And no doubt approves the emotional warmth that I am starting to feel.
