Hi. I have not processed my mum’s grief fully, due to me using avoidance tactics. This was due to having lack of support at the time, and now I feel the avoidance tactic is still coming into play. Has anyone ever experienced this? My avoidance was worrying about me and my cousin playing mum and dad’s when we were younger, this would have been when I was 10 im now 46. Sorry if I shouldn’t speak about this. But I was just looking for advice as it causes anxiety and blocks my grief processing I think. I have spoken to my cousin number of times about this and when my anxiety got so bad I went and told the police about it. They reassured me about this. If my mum was here she would normally reassure me that it didnt mean anything bad. I never told her but it seems to bother me.
Hello Marz, im so sorry for your loss, most people have a hard time coping with the loss of a loved one. As for me I try and not think too much about my husband, who passed away in March,..i try to keep busy, but it eventually catches up to you. There’s nothing wrong with crying
its good to let it all out, even if you hafta scream. Its good for you. So is posting on this site, let go of your emotions, were all here to listen, take care and God bless you ![]()
Hi Marz,
Grief can surface unresolved trauma. Essentially we are all just the sum of our experiences, and those all need to come to the surface at some point.
Have you tried therapy or bereavement counselling. They would help you make sense of the emotions and why that past event is playing such a part with you trying to process grief.
