Solo holidays

Hope you enjoyed your break away, where are you going next time?

I had a brilliant time at the German Christmas markets. It was another solo coach holiday so I felt very comfortable. My next solo holiday is July next year when I’m off to Italy again, Rome and other places, but for a longer break this time. Thanks for asking, now just trying to organise Christmas with my grown up son. xx

Been solo at xmas functions this week.
Missed my late husband.
I really feel how I felt supported by him when he was alive.
I know it wasn’t a holiday as such but all adds up to coping alone on way to more confidence forcing myself to talk to someone else on their own and break the ice.
Trying to develop a thicker skin. Sitting by a widower older than me but with similar physical problems as my husband had with a sharp mind like my husband had.
It was easier than before with others who had partners. It reminded me how I felt alone on a short break alone at Warners. Leger seems very expensive. That is before the oncosts. What does it cost altogether?

Im so glad you enjoyed it. Im doing a leger solo in may to the italian and french riviera

The price in the brochure for Solo holidays they have no extra costs other than a pick up at home extra which is dependent on where you live. If you look at the holidays that aren advertised as Solo they have a single supplement.
I found the holiday a decent price as trips and meals are all included.

I was really wanting some idea of what it costs on top of what is included.
Are we talking in the thousands?

Basically, if you go on one of the solo holidays there won’t be a single supplement so the price you see when you first book is the total amount you will pay. The only extra I had was £25 to have them pick me up and drop me off at my house and of course any money you want to spend while you are away. Everything is done for you and you are well looked after. I’ve been on 2 with Leger now and am going again in July to Italy because all I really had to do was pack my case! It’s a good way to explore other places and on both my trips I have met some lovely people. Gail

Its a perfect way to travel, no hidden costs just pack have some spending money and if you have a free day in the itinerary then money to do either an optional trip or for your own day out.
Get a brochure and enjoy looking through.

I’ve always travelled solo though sometimes with Mum. It can be expensive eg you pay for a room not matter how many sleep in it. But I’d rather travel alone than not go. some people think it’s sad to go to gigs/theatre alone. i rather go alone than miss out on the experience- that seems sadder!

Yes I agree with you. Often times it is a hassle organising everyone else.
Can do last minute. If you are just watching something so what?
My husband left me alone such a lot following his interests I had to. Also at work was alone going all over the place had to visit places and people. If i didnt ho in a place to eat I starved.
Also had to go to work events alone or not go at all.
I was always grateful when my husband was there.
When he cane to support me.
Now alone I have made a mess making lots of xmas wreaths and arrangements alone
I necer pay £30 with others unless it is free.
Recycle a lot. Just repainted a pine cone wreath.

Glad you had a nice time. I’ve booked to go to the German Christmas markets next year xx

Which one are you going to visit?

I loved it so much that I will probably book to go again next year. Which one are you going on?

I fancy doing one next year, let me know i might book it as well. I go to the Italian and French riviera trip in May with Leger so might book for another later in the year.

I’m going with Leger to Italy in July but will probably book the Christmas market one again. I can let you know which one. Gail xx

Have a lovely time away in July,

I’m going on a Saga Rhine Christmas Market trip. Hope it will be good x

Sounds lovely.

Hi, I’ve just booked to go on the Christmas Market trip with Leger again. It departs on 1st December and returns on 5th December. I really enjoyed it this year and so wanted to do it again as I feel that there was a lot more I could have seen, apart from just drinking mulled wine and eating chocolate!! Gail
