It’s good to see this thread back to the fore. Thanks Ian. As many have said, music can be very cathartic.

Hi,
I love listening to André Boccelli singing The Greatest Gift. It’s all about love x Was so appropriate at mum’s funeral
Hope music helps everyone on here even though sometimes in it’s difficult to listen to
Thinking of you all

It is a beautiful song Deborah. :sparkling_heart:

Thank you.
The part in the beginning about looking out at the stars shining bright was so appropriate. I got mum home eventually from the hospital and I had the bed downstairs for her.
I moved her bed so she was next to the window and we used to look at the stars.
When I heard the words of that song I just had to have it at mums funeral.
It always makes me cry but that’s ok
Thank you for listening to it.

Oh my goodness I just listened to it again and am in floods of tears. Its so powerful.
I used to lay my head on her pillow next to her and we would watch the stars together just like in the song.
She passed away Dec 30th so it was winter time and cold outside so we lit the fire and surrounded her with love.
Mum went to church and believed in heaven and angels. One day approx a week before she passed she was in the bed at home downstairs and I was sitting next to her. She said there were people near the ceiling looking down on her and smiling and that they were above where my husband was sitting opposite where the bed was. I asked if she recognised any of them and she said no but said they were still there.
I told her I could see them too although of course I couldn’t and that they were angels singing to her. I told her not to be afraid as they had just come to visit us all. I took her hand and we waved at them.
How appropriate was that song after all that?
Thank you for posting it . I hope everyone enjoys it.
It’s so so special to me.
Off to make a cuppa now to compose myself.
It’s all so hard sometimes
Sending love

Hi , that song “memories” has a special place in my heart …During lockdown , it always seemed to come on the radio ,when I was in my husband’s car , he always said " I put it on especially for you darlin " I would smile at him and sing along to it , and would say that it was our lockdown song ,and we would always remember all the time we spent together.
Little did I know a year later I would be using that song for my husband’s funeral …when I hear it now , I always imagine him saying that to me and I always thank him knowing he put it on especially for me xtake carex
