So glad that you find the song meaningful. I find music helpful, even if it makes me cry. Have you come across ‘Here without you’ by 3 Doors Down. It’s another song that chimes with how I feel. There are times when I’m alone, that these songs help me realise I’m not the only one feeling this way. People that say things like it’s time to move on have no idea. After spending 45 years with my darling Charles, the idea that people think I need to ‘move on’ after only 6 months since he was torn away from me shows how little they really understand. I hope the devastation I feel now will lessen with time, but I never want to forget him or not be able to talk about the life we had together. My thoughts are with you, it’s so hard but take comfort that people here understand and share your grief. Take care x

I have 3 computer-printed pictures of my wife blue-tacked to the wall above our mantlepiece - I put them up about 3 weeks after she passed, because I needed to see her face all the time. Last year I tacked another 2 to our bedroom wardrobe, so I can see her face whenever I go upstairs. I will never not remember, and I will always see her face.
In saying that, I’ve been in hospital 3 times in the last 2 months, which has left me feeling much weaker, and it has totally upset my morning and nightly routines. I just hope I can get back to my “normality” for the short time I hope to be on this earth.
His song Pointless is also lovely
We played i at mums funeral. Words are so real in what we did for her and how pointless is now without her.

You’re right about the warning, I had to disconnect half way, just couldn’t listen to the whole song😭. By coincidence, I’ve lately been “playing around” on my piano, singing and playing Unchained Melody from the film, (an easy one for beginners), I shouldn’t really, but as we all know, we tend to be attracted to music which reflects our moods, even if it makes us cry, but in a way it’s a very helpful release for us, crying to songs, the tears need to find their way out, or we end up exploding, a bit like a pressure-cooker. What happens if the valve gets blocked and the steam can’t get out?
It’s a beautiful emotional song, I discovered it a few months ago. I would love to see the show but not sure I’m ready for it yet

This song makes me think of how my husband was with me, our kids, our home. He was completely dedicated, always put us first, ensured our safety and well-being with such passion, he was so proud of his family. The words of this song just want to make me scream and wonder how wicked and cruel fate is, to take a precious person away like that, in a matter of minutes, leaving an immeasurable emptiness.
