Hello sadandnumb.

I think i may have messaged you before. I recognise your username.

I am deeply sorry to hear about how much you are missing your beloved mum. I can empathise with every word of what you have written. That is how I feel too. My mam passed away 16 weeks tomorrow.
The disbelief that sets in, is so heartbreaking. You just want your mam back with you. Doing what you always did.

I always think small memories are sometimes more upsetting than bigger memories. You must have lots of both. But it is okay having lovely memories, but we want our mums back with us.

I miss my mam so much too. I might have said before but she had Alzheimer’s for the last three years. She was doing okay though. I was there for mam and she was there for me always.

I feel this way too. Do you? If and when I go out and I see someone around mam’s age 82, or someone elderly being helped by a relative, I feel so jealous. I think. My mam was beautiful. She was kind, caring and had a beautiful smile. Mam should be here now. They are here and mam isn’t. Heartbreaking.

Do you have any support? I am not saying that makes it easier, but a bit of love and support can really help. I say that but I don’t have any support at all. I do have a brother who I hardly see and when I do he never asks how I am coping and he won’t let me speak about mam.

As you said. You miss your mum’s love and loving touches. I do too. We always said we loved each other. Mam used to say it as I finished dressing her when she put her head on my shoulder. She used to hold my hand and kiss it and I did hers too. If I was feeling a bit off colour I used to say to mam: do i look okay mam? She used to say come here Stephen. I used to cross to her armchair and she used to put both her hands on my face and say: you look bloody lovely.

I know this doesn’t change our grief, the constant sadness, the absence where our mums should be but I just wanted to message you to let you know I feel your pain because I have it too.

God bless and sending you all my kindest regards and best wishes.Stephen.

Thankyou Stephen and same to you . Tonight I’ve been thinking about how she died in the hospice . I can see her clear as day and how she went I feel so in pain when I think she just went … just like that one breath and she had gone … I wish I didn’t have to leave her and I wish hope she would have known we wher all there with her. I knew she was going and knew I needed to be with her but I still wish I could have taken her place … although I know she would be cross that I wanted that …I tod here it was ok for her to go but I didn’t want here to go but she was in pain and she wanted to see her mum. I miss her terribly and wish somehow I could see here. I miss my mum and I will never be able to say I love you mum again and here her reply . I’m sorry you feel alone Stephen your not you have this community who all understand be that we are alone even with family been near xxx take care

Thank you sadandnumb for your reply.

It is so sad losing our mums. It is something I think we won’t ever get over. Not that I want that as you don’t either. I sometimes feel I really need to cry and by doing I keep mam close. She wouldn’t want me crying too much though.

It broke my heart reading about how your mum wanted to see her mum. We both know that is what we want too.

Mam God bless, with her Alzheimer’s thought her mam and dad were still alive. She wanted to see them so much she used to cry. I didn’t want her upset and I wished I could get them to see mam, which I couldn’t. I knew very little about Alzheimer’s but as soon as mam was diagnosed I read so much on it to ensure mam felt safe and comforted. I had a few ways of reassuring mam that her parents were okay. The one that brought most comfort was that I said to mam I will send your mam and dad a text. I wrote it out and then read it to mam and I said I will press this and send it. Mum thought id sent it. When I got the chance I wrote out a reply and said to mam, your mam and dad have replied. So I read it to mum. When I had finished she used to say to me bless them. It brought a lot of comfort.

I have cried a lot over mam today. Sending you all my best wishes.Stephen.

You too Stephen hope you have. Happier day today
