8 years since I lost my lovely husband and yet certain ‘days’ still catch me out. Today is father’s day and am painfully reminded that my two adult sons won’t ever need reminding to send dad a card! And I won’t have the joy of celebrating with my whole family again.

Dear Lesley4, I am so sorry for your loss. I found special days always very hard to cope with. My husband died on Valentine’s Day this year suddenly and unexpectedly. Since then I survived and suffered his birthday (I had already a card and presents), Easter (no more hide and seek), Bank holidays (no more looking forward to them), and Father’s Day ( no more cards and presents). I am just existing, I cannot call it living. Sending you lots of love and hugs.
