Sunday club

My dad had a sidecar combo. My mother hated going on the back so as soon as I was big enough it was me. No helmet. No leathers. Cling on for grim death. Ended up in a ditch full of nettles once to avoid rolling over. Car drivers got out and got me off the back and my mum and brother out of the sidecar without getting stung. Then got the bike out of the ditch. This would have been over 60 years ago. Used to go on holiday with it. No idea what we did with luggage.

I donā€™t know how any of survived to adulthood. Playing out in the street until dark, no seatbelts, no drink/driving laws, walking to school on our own, no central heating, outside toilet.
Bugger! I sound like my Nanna!
As a teenager, miniskirt, no coat. Getting the ā€œBed-panā€ line (Bedford to St.Pancras) train to London, just to go shopping at Biba in Carnaby Street.
And all the while, my parents thought I was studying at the library.
Xx

Willow the two of us used to change a king size duvet cover but I canā€™t manage on my own so I bought a cover less duvet and I love it. I just chuck it in the washing machine then onto the line or dryer, it doesnā€™t take long to dry. No more struggling with a cover.

How is the baking going?

Beef in beer for the filling is still in the slow cooker, 2 lots of pastry made- one vegetarian for a cheese pie and the ingredients for Mary Berry very best chocolate cake is weighed outā€¦
Iā€™ve been distracted by
my resident robin, complaining because I forgot to feed him firstā€¦ :upside_down_face:
Have you managed t distract yourself today? :people_hugging:

I should addā€¦the kitchen looks like a bombā€™s fallenā€¦

A few months before Keef died he bought a new, very flash camera and I need to work it out as well. Photography was his thing, even though he was the mad scientist and Iā€™m the arty one! I managed to figure out how to just point and click when I went away to Italy last April, but since heā€™d only just got the camera he hadnā€™t really taken any pictures on it, just a few test ones. Rather than have to deal with those I got a new memory card so that all of my pictures go on that, just need to figure out how to get them onto the computer so I can free up space for my next trip. They tend to be fairly straight forward these days, I know though that he got this particular one so that he could take better wildlife pictures with a big lens, but I donā€™t think I need that just yet!

Check out A Year with My Cameraā€¦ for the camera side of things and then You tube to find out how to save the pictures to your computerā€¦ I find itā€™s better to that directly from the card rather than from the camera. Main thing, as in all things in life, take it a step at a time and try to ask for help if neededā€¦ Iā€™m no expert but Iā€™d be happy to help

Wow, that sounds like you have been very busy.

Distractions = washing up :unamused:,

Feeding the cats.

Cooking some mince to batch freeze.

I donā€™t cook much as my husband loved to help, so it brings back memories.
For instance, today there was fat to drain and he would have spooned it off.
Silly little things like that can trigger memories and tears.

Pruning, the rain had beaten down some shrubs and they were making it difficult to use the path. Tomorrow I will have to saw back a branch.

Oh and ā€¦ā€¦. feeding the cats :heart_eyes_cat::smiley_cat:

Big hug,

Rose and 2 well fed cats xx

Whilst the cake was baking, and the rain had stoppedā€¦ I took the hedge trimmer to our 13 foot hedge. Obviously I canā€™t reach the topN would have gone up a ladder, not me, thanks very muchā€¦so I had a bit of a cry at thatā€¦ and I have shoes that are more tender than the beef thatā€™s cookingā€¦:joy:
Itā€™s times like this I wish our cats were still around, for the fuss :purple_heart:
