Evening everyone, I took my neighbour to Warrington shopping today as the weather is awful here in Cheshire. She only goes to the local town so my good deed for the week was to take her out it was a lovely afternoon and meant we werenāt sat in our homes alone. Maybe its somethingI need to do more now the weather is getting wet and miserable.

I broke my ankle in mine, told my dad i did in a 100m hurdles i was meant to be competing in. He didnāt believe me as he went to watch and I was in a local pub with my boyfriend

I once had the tallest platform soles (think Elton John/Pinball Wizard). I am 4ft 10. My husband was 6ft 2. They were black patent with big bows on the front (Minnie Mouse). The first time I met my future mother-in-law she sat and stared at my feet in disbelief all night.
I thought I was the beeās knees. What an arrogant 16 year old I was.
Long black hair, short skirt. I must have looked a fright. My dad said I looked like Morticia Adams. He once held my head under the kitchen tap and washed all my eye makeup off before I was allowed out.

Sadly I still have a couple of pairs of flares in my wardrobe,maybe they will come back in fashion.

I remember wearing mini skirt (not very short for the time) maxi coat and platform soles. Never really wore make up. When first stated work on a training course the girls asked if we could wear trousers to work. Took a few months before we had courage to ask. Trainer had been wondering we none of wore trousers to work particularly as it was a very cold winter. Met my husband in that training course. We were 18.
