Hello @Chris964,
Thank you for bravely starting this thread and sharing what you’re going through right now. I’m so sorry for the loss of your step-dad. We know that grief can be so painful to cope with. It sounds like you recognise that your drinking and drug use is a problem and that you are ready to get support. You don’t have to do this alone.
- The NHS website has a guide on getting help with drug use.
- Turning Point also offers support, including Peer Mentoring, to people who are having drug or alcohol misuse problems.
The Samaritans are also always there for you, day or night, on 116 123.
If you’re interested in counselling, we offer free sessions at Sue Ryder. You can also make an appointment with your GP and ask to be referred to counselling or other support services in your area. We have also recently launched Grief Guide, which provides articles and interactive tools to help you cope with grief.
Please do keep reaching out - you deserve care and support.
Take good care,
Seaneen
