The little things.

Sometimes it’s the little things that catch you unawares. I was putting some things into my car the other day and I opened the passenger door, it was stiff, I realised you were the last one to open it, some 20 months ago, our last car journey together, though I didn’t know it at the time. Yes sometimes it’s the little things that burst the dam and opens the floodgates.

Dear @norrie ,

Yes, it’s exactly like you said.

There are so many “triggers” that open the floodgates, a song we both love so much, some memories coming back etc.

The sadness and despair come in waves even though the very bleak and sad days are becoming a little bit less frequent as time passes.

Sending strength your way!

Kind regards - Joe

Its always the little things. Things you were never aware of before because you were comfortable and content just going about your lovely life. Never ever thinking it could end. I just wish I had been more aware and had taken more notice of what I had and how much I was loved.

Morning @Woody9
I think that’s is true we were just going about our everyday life’s . Not knowing it would end in the blink of an eye . Then it’s all the things we miss about our loved ones . Take care

Good morning, that is so very true, I also feel like I wasted so many opportunities with my husband, always thinking we have tomorrow, he always wanted to take little trips here and there, and I’d always say “when you feel a bit better “ , or to just kiss him full on the lips like when we were much younger, not just little pecks. I miss him so much, today we would have been watching some boxing match, hed get so excited, rooting for his favorite . Take care , God bless

Tons of these little things that one has to face day after day. I don’t think there’s an end to them if you’ve been w/ someone for many years. I find/think of them all the time, too.

Yes, all those memories, all those little rituals Fanny and me cultivated, they are omnipresent and that’s a good thing.

Fanny’s passion is (I can’t get myself to talk about her in the past tense) interior design.

She has a wonderful talent of turning a condo into a beautiful home and I will leave everything the way it is as our place breathes her spirit.

I love our beautiful home, it’s giving me comfort and solace.

God bless everyone - please take care of yourselves!

Kind regards - Joe

Very nice pictures and they represent the love you two have together. I don’t do the past tense well either because I think they are still there.

Hello, I don’t like using the word , died. Or death, when referring to my beloved husband, I just say he passed.

Sometimes it’s a word of somebody that is inappropriate and opens the wounds that start bleeding again., sometimes it’s a picture popping up to display that hurts like a knife into heart, and sometimes it’s just a place you go through that reminds of something so vivid as if the time turned back again,.

Dear Lucy (I hope it’s your name),
I have about 80 feeders in my huge garden and 20 solar fountains makes it look at night like a fairy land. I like about this house (except being extraordinary) that it has enough space to put the seeds in, so I can’t wait to fill it soon…

That’s amazing, Lucy! We’ve lost too much, so we also can’t lose our dream world… If it gives you a comfort and makes you happy, go and buy something there. I bet that your beloved husband will be happy too, I’ve ordered this through Amazon. I’m very curious, when you’ll get your book and start reading. There is no fiction in it, only real people with real stories and it’s such a comfort to know about it. Sweet dreams! I’d wish them too, but mine are real nightmares…
Hugs from Janka

I pray for sweet dreams for you :folded_hands: God bless
