This is the Place

Same here, I wrongly thought the brighter days would make me feel better, how wrong I was, I miss him so much, and miss the future that I believed we would have, we used to sit by the pond and watch the wildlife, it’s too sad now that I don’t have him beside me.

In Wales and decided to visit the church where my wife’s ashes are being interned tomorrow.

Just as well I did as the village has changed considerably in the last 50+ years. Eventually found the church and it had just closed. Chatted to a couple of ladies outside and when I mentioned that it was the church where we married, one of them asked who she was. The lady, who was 99 actually knew my wife and her family.

The church still looks the same.

That is incredible, to find someone who knew your wife, and she just happened to be there at the same time as you.
Its a nice looking church.
Hope all goes well tomorrow xx

Thanks it was hell of a coincidence.

She was so perky as well for someone who was 99.

Must admit I am not looking forward to it.
Still I have to do it

Sending you my love xx

I had my poem framed like I did with the letter I placed in my wife’s coffin.

I’ll hang them in the new house when I eventually move

That’s so beautiful, and a beautiful place to rest.

This is lovely. I will be passing through Rogerstone later this evening. There are some lovely churches in the area. Is this St John’s?

Yes it is St John’s where we first got romantically involved; where we got married in 1967; where Jackie was interred on the 30th April and where I’ll eventually join her in the future.

I hope to move back down there in the coming months

Good luck with the move.

Thanks.

Sadly it’s going to take a while before we sort things out my end, then have to sell the house, but I’ll get there

A wonderful tribute to your wife, and such a poignant poem.
It seems that you will be happier back in Wales, sending love xx

I will definitely be happier. Just finished a long call with one of my wife’s cousins, who lives in Wales. She lost her husband back in 2017, so has experienced what we all are going through.

I mentioned that I feel bad at leaving Jackie alone in the church garden of remembrance until I move down, so she’s going to pop in and see her as often as she can.

You take care

That’s so lovely! You take care too xx
