It has been 5 months since my partner Theresa passed away but for some reason it seems as if it has only been around a month or so. I haven’t really been able to motivate myself to do things around the house and garden as I wanted to .
Does any one else feel as if time has just flew by , but it hasn’t really, if that makes sense.
The past year has gone since losing my wonderful husband, it feels like so long since I’ve seen him but only yesterday that I lost him. None of this makes sense, I’m sure grief plays tricks on us x
Hi @Alex9
You can’t make sense of time when you are grieving. It’s 9 months since I suddenly lost my husband. In someways it seems like yesterday and yet it seems a long time as well . I hope you find some peace and calm in your day .
Hi. I’m the opposite, I feel as if time drags by really slowly. My partner died suddenly nine months ago and it feels like an eternity. I can’t motivate myself to do much, just the basics, feels like groundhog day some days. I still have very bad concentration, suffer from anxiety and get overwhelmed easily. The old me was not like that, I just don’t recognise myself anymore. I try not to think about the future, it’s too depressing. Take care.
I’ve just passed the 18 month mark. Each day of that has been hard and long and it feels like time drags and moves so slowly.
But, at the same time, the 18 months themselves have flown by. I really can’t believe she’s been gone that long.
I also still haven’t managed to do all the things I want to do around the house and garden. I have, however, learned to live with that and know I’ll get round to them eventually. I tend to have times when I feel motivated and that can last minutes, hours or a couple of days. So I do what I can when the mood hits and stress like when I don’t.
I agree; I’m at the eighteen months mark too and time moves slowly but it conversely feels like yesterday aswell . I think there is a paradigm shift’ of time in grief
