Lizzy Im laughing at the fact your SIL is good at diy but your son isn’t thats like my SIL and my son and also like something my daughter would say too about son coming to help pack, could be my family you are speaking about
Good your nice and cosy, weather not heating up anytime soon by looks of it xxx
Nigel, you need to learn one thing about me, apart from no sense of direction I have zero observational skills too. My husband had a moustache when I met him. After about 2 years he shaved it off. I didn’t notice. A friend mentioned it, he said he had shaved it off days before, I’m not sure if I believed him.
Debsie, that is so funny because exactly the same thing happened with me and Mary. I had a moustache when we started going out and still had it at our wedding but later shaved it off. The kids realised but Mary didn’t notice for about three days! I don’t think anyone will see the error - because nor can I, and I know where it is!
Georgi I have 3 sons and none of them are of any use in practical things. They have some skills in IT but that is it. I have a journalist, a data analyst and a software programmer. My husband wasn’t particularly handy either although he was a fabulous gardener and decorator, and gave brilliant hugs.
Only my daughter #1 and SIL next door are any good at DIY! He’s an electrician. She even installed the burglar alarm sensors in her house, took all the doors off to paint them and the door frames, and then rehung them afterwards. I was most impressed!
Lizzy I forgot to say about your insurance. When I dealt with my fathers estate I had to insure the house shortly before selling. I spoke to the broker and they said I would get a refund pro rata. However when I cancelled it it turned out there was a £75 charge by the companythey insured me with. I complained that I had been missold and luckily they recorded the calls and I could prove it. I got my money refunded. Please check what the cancellation fee is before you buy.
That’s a very good point Debsie!
Nigel, I am so pleased I wasn’t the only one. I didn’t think anyone was as bad as me
Everyone said he couldn’t have kissed me in that time or I would have noticed.
I thought the same! Can’t quite remember why she hadn’t noticed! Blind love maybe?
We thats amazing Nigel xxx
Georgi, I believe the dog was for a friend who’s dog had died and that he did that from a photo of the dog.
I’m tired after a busy day so it’s time for bed. Thanks to you all, for getting me through today without a tear. You may not realise but just being there and our chats have seen me through. You are all just so special.
Love you all! xxxx
Nigel, it looks great to me. Are you supposed to start in the middle which would be a lot more cutting as the edges would be smaller round the whole floor. I just went through and looked at mine which the grouting needs a scrub. (Tomorrow’s job) my tiles are the same size as yours but my bathroom is tiny, so they have used a full size one, then cut one in half and alternated them. I’ve actually never noticed that before you asked if we spotted anything. They can’t be upside down surely lol.
Debsie I think you are right, there could be a cancellation fee added on. I’m not sure what to do now. Do I take a chance, I’ve got a month to go. Xxx
Very astute Lizzy! Yes normally you start in the middle but I decided the extra cutting and the small edge bits made too much extra work in such a small space. The walls tiles are staggered but all the four rooms with these big tiles are like this one. No they’re not upside down. But one tile is 2 mm lower than the rest. So I’m happy no one else will notice!
Lizzy there may be a cancellation fee whether you pay a full year up front or pay it monthly. I just prefer monthly rather than paying it in one go!
