Unsure what to do

My dad went for an operation and it went well. He started with chest pain and became ill. They said they would start antibiotics but did not until after midnight (hours later). They said sepsis then pneumonia. Also, I went into his roo to staff putting custard in his mouth. He was making strange noises and not moving. I thought he was choking and told her to get a nurse. The inquest has a number of untruths in it. Will i ever find out what happened?

Hello Kylar, so sorry for what happened to your dad, ..my husband passed away in March, he also had pneumonia, and then was septic..my husband went into a coma and never woke up, we had to take him off life support..its unusual that they were feeding your dad?, do you know if he was conscious?, my husband had a feeding tube….:confused:he couldn’t have possibly eaten on his own, everything was so traumatic. I hope you find the answers you’re looking for regarding your dad’s care. Take care of yourself and may God bless you :folded_hands:

Thank you for your reply. I left my dad fully conscious for 30 mins, I walked in his room to find someone feeding him. He was making awful noises and looking back, I am wondering if he was taking his last breaths. She carried on feeding him until I screamed at her to get someone.

Dear Kylar I am so sorry to hear about your father. These things often happen in hospitals my wife had a number of things that weren’t done as they should have, partly because of a doctors strike and partly because doctors aren’t often good at their jobs. The end result though is the same we have lost our loved one and in reality that is the thing we have to come to terms with getting bogged down in the why’s doesn’t really help in the long run. I hope you find some peace

Wishing you all the best

Tom
