Valentines Day

Valentines day is this week and it’s going to be the 1st one without my Dad.
Just wondering what I can do for my Mum on this 1st.
Was thinking of suggesting taking her to their special place or sending a card from heaven. Just not sure what to do for the best, just don’t want Mum to be on her own.

Ask her… tell her you don’t want her to be alone, but understand that she might want to spend the day with her thoughts.
Or she might love to spend the day with reminiscing about your dad.
You’re both going to be missing him.
I hope whatever you both decide, you find some moments of joy in your memories
Xx

What a caring person you are.Firstly for recognising the impact it will have and secondly for wanting to help.Wonderful.

Thank you. Since Dad has gone I’ve had to step up to care for Mum as Dad did everything from paying the bills to doing the food shop. I’m also a carer for my Husband who has parkinsons and working full time. Life is so tough right now but couldn’t be without my husband after 9 years not even to think about mum who had her Golden wedding anniversary last year. 50 years to now being on your own must be awful x

That’s a lot of responsibility for one person. And its a long time to be with someone 50 years. I was married for almost 30 years and thats hard . Keep on being the caring person you clearly are.Take care.
