I wanted to share a milestone with you all: we have reached 50,000 members on the community!
Since starting in my role about four months ago, I’ve been in awe of the kindness, understanding and support that members show each other every day. Whether someone is sharing their story for the first time, reaching out on a particularly difficult day, or offering comfort and reassurance to another member, all of these make this community such a special place.
Whether you’re a new member or you’ve been here for a while, I’d love to hear from you:
What does being part of this community mean to you? How has it supported you so far?
Thank you everyone, regardless of whether you’re a regular poster or you prefer to read posts, for helping to make this such a supportive and compassionate community
Hi Harriet, that is certainly a lot of members..but I can see why..i for one am very grateful for this community. I never imagined being a part of something like this but im grateful I found it..its comforting knowing I’m not alone in my grief, everyone here understands what im going through, many of us here with similar experiences , it just helps knowing im not alone in my grief..its wonderful being able to talk about your day, as boring as it may be..scary, or actually having a good day, .there’s always someone to answer and are supportive. Thank you Ms Harriet, and Sue Ryder for giving me something to look forward to every morning ..May God bless everyone here..
Thank you so much @Lightmary68 - I’m really glad it helps to know you’re not alone in your grief, and that the community is a space where you can feel understood, talk about your day and support each other
Thank you so much @gemswinc - I’m really glad to hear the community has been a lifeline for you. I hope you continue to find support here for as long as you need to
Hi Harriet, I joined the community in December 2025 two and a half months after my partner’s sudden death. It’s been a Godsend as I felt that friends and family just didn’t appreciate how awful I was feeling. The people on here were going through similar experiences and that made me feel less alone. All those crazy irrational emotions I had running around in my head now had validity. It’s also made me more confident in how I express how I’m feeling to friends and family.
Thanks so much @Lostinlimbo - I agree it’s sad that so many people have found themselves needing a bereavement community. At the same time, I hope everyone who comes here is able to find support from others who really understand what they’re going through.
It’s amazing to hear that the community has changed your life, and helped you when you needed it most
@Norma1, thank you so much for sharing this - I’m so glad the community has been such a support to you since losing your partner suddenly last December. What you’ve said about feeling less alone and having your feelings understood and validated is something I know many members here will relate to. It’s great to hear that being part of the community has helped you to feel more confident expressing how you’re feeling to friends and family too.
Thank you again for sharing your experience with us
