Widowed

I still find it difficult to describe myself as a widow. He was my life for decades how can he be not here. I was told to keep busy put a new structure into your life. After running myself ragged joining everything doing everything never saying no i have found its ok to do nothing to spend time thinking of all the good times and saying thank you to the only man i have ever loved and always will.

No is a perfectly valid answer.
I’ve started to use it regularly - it brings a sense of peace that I’m not forcing myself to live up to other people’s expectations.
Time spent looking after yourself is time well spent.

Keeping busy all the time is not good, you need quiet time alone to be able to grieve. If you keep busy all the time you are not letting the grief in and it will not be good in the long term. Take some time to grieve and leave the life rebuilding to later on, you will know when you are ready.
You are doing the right thing taking time out andI hope you are feeling better for it.
