Wish people would stop saying…

…that’s no age to die. My mum was mid 70s and I really hoped she would get into her 80s and we’d have her a few more years. However with her cancer that just wasn’t realistic or a fair expectation. People keep telling me should have lived longer, although said out of compassion just makes me feel cheated and so sad for my mum.

So sorry to hear this, you will get a lot of folk saying the wrong thing to you, folk should really think before saying anything to someone that has just lost a loved one, before I lost my beautiful Mum 9 weeks ago, I always had great empathy for folk, especially because I lost my Dad 19 years ago and I knew what I hated folk saying to me, some folk just don’t know what to say to us and end up saying the wrong thing, I think it’s because we are angry at the world :pensive::broken_heart:

Yes, and he is at better place now… He isnt suffering anymore… This were the sentances of people when I lost my dad in 2016. Now in 2025 when I lost my husband suddenly, well comments are much worse. Especially when someone says you will love again, you will meet someone. Like omg, I dont want to… So yeah, if you dont have anything nice to say, just be quite.

Absolutely. It’s just awful the things people say without thinking. One of my mum’s friends said it was for the best! We’re not talking about taking an animal in pain to the vets. This is my mum. Yes she was having a very rough time but I lived in hope things would improve and there is no way this outcome is for the best.

yes, my eyes have been opened to a lot of folk, I’m usually quite chatty when I meet folk, but lately I have been trying to avoid them, because I will end up being nasty and it will make me look bad :pensive:
