Oh God, I did watch it, although the grandchildren were here, so I missed most of it. Well done to them.
I love the videos. Thanks a lot.
I’ve been out in the garden, lots to do. A Hebe I have had for years, looked really unwell, after further investigation, I found it had a caterpillar infestation, took multiple caterpillars from the plant and placed them on wasteland over the back. Now maybe my plant might start to get better.
I haven’t anything planned today, like most days. it’s very windy here.
Hope you have a good day
Must admit, I’m not a gardener. Had to google what a Hebe was.
Jackie loved her garden, but wasn’t able to do much over the last couple of years. She would be telling me off for allowing it to get untidy. Cutting the grass and trying to cut the bushes are about my limits. I’ve given most of her potted plants to family and our lovely neighbours.
Just had a chat with Jackie’s best friend here, our neighbour. She brought me the meal I should have had last night. Just needs warming.
Now I have to connect my CD player up and then call my nephew in Wales for a chat and cry.
You have a great day as well. xx
Good morning
Hope you are okay.
It’s quite warm here, but overcast.
Have a good day
‘Not too bad’ as you tell friends and family At least I only had a little cry walking back from the shop.
Trust you are ok as well.
It’s just started drizzling here, which is quite good as it’ll save me watering the dying plants. Some of them look really brown, so not sure if it’s lack of water or too much. Perhaps they should look like it.
Any plans for today?
No plans so far, but my son has said he will be home at lunch and we will go to Cambridge for a walk around, that’s if he gets out of work early, it will be better than moping around the house.
What about you?
Sounds good. Moping is no good, I can attest to that.
Cambridge is nice went there often with Jackie, when we lived in Offord Cluny, in my RAF days.
I’m currently reading the paper and listening to Classic FM.
I need to check what paint we have stored in the garage as my oldest granddaughter & boyfriend are coming to do a big of painting on the weekend.
After that, I need to respond to some emails and should also put the hoover on
@Johnr
Moping isn’t good but sometimes that’s just how it is…
I was about to have a lousy day but decided to do some gardening whilst no showers and it was lovely hearing the birds. I complain to myself all the time because I’m not a good weeder but I did manage one bed before the rain.
This afternoon booked into local swimming pool for water walking exercise class which might help hip surgery recovery…Might have a swim afterwards as well…
It’s so very strange how one day we feel absolutely dreadful and the next more positive. I don’t think I’ll ever understand it…
I forgot my coat and it’s pouring in Cambridge, oh well a bit of rain won’t hurt me, but I do look bedraggled. Looks like it’s in for the day!
Whatever you do, hope you have a reasonable day.
When you’ve finished weeding, can I book you in to do mine?
I haven’t been swimming for decades. Never a good swimmer, but I did like swimming in the sea.
Yes it’s weird how our emotions can change daily or even hourly. I’ve just had a chat with my nephew, which perked me up somewhat. He’s going to take some flowers to Jackie this week.
Anyway, you get on with the weeding, if it stops raining. xx
That’s the sort of thing I often did, until Jackie bought me one of those Mac in a Sac things and insisted I leave it in the car. When we got rid of her car, she put hers in the car as well. They’re still both there.
Hope the day went well, despite the rain.
My granddaughter wants me to send her a shopping list for the decorating items she needs for the weekend. Jackie would know instantly what we had and what we needed. I better revisit the garage and hazard a guess what we need.
I found a pile of paint brushes and a mini roller in the garage, so only had to order some paint.
God it’s so hard trying to be a wife as well as husband. Jackie would have rattled off what we needed in minutes instead of the 45 it took me. Now the floodgates have opened again.
I need to stop today.
Johnr, don’t be hard on yourself. I am still crying everyday, over 17 weeks. This weekend was hard and today was bad. Some days are better then others, but i still cry.
I hope the decorating goes ok.
I was quite ok this morning but now it’s as bad as ever.
It’s not really being hard on myself, it’s the truth. As scatterbrained Jackie may have appeared at times, she did remember where everything was and what purpose they served. I was more methodical than her, but, with hindsight her system suited the pair of us better.
I really miss her
I know, it’s bloody ho
Sorry, I’ll try that again.
I know it’s bloody horrible, to be left without our soul mate. The one person who truly got you and made you feel special. The one person who made you happy by just being next to you. Who melted your heart by smiling at you.
Sorry probably not helping. These waves.
Let the tears out, Its not nice trying to do the things two people used to do.
Mark did everything for me, its made it very hard for me now.
I’ve had a few tears today, we always used to go to Cambridge, it was really upsetting without him.
I have and yes it’s definitely hard trying to do the things that two of you did.
I suppose when you have to do something, you quickly learn.
I’ve been doing most of the cooking, albeit simple stuff, for over 6 months and a lot of other things as well always looking after majority of household bills.
It’s Jackie’s memory of where stuff is that miss.
People keep telling me it’s good to cry, so it’s good for you as well. Hope you enjoyed a bit of the day in Cambridge. He’ll always be with you in your heart, so think of the good memories you made together.
BTW if you don’t mind me asking, why ‘Flints’?
Cambridge was wet, but we had a look around, then had some lunch, so it was quite a pleasant day.
Well, regarding ‘Flints’ it’s silly really, but when I first came on here, I didn’t want to divulge my real name, so I used part of my house name, but then I put the photo of me and Mark on, and thought, well that was silly, I might just have well used my real name!
My real name is Glenys.
