Chat and support #2

Good morning lovely sunny morning here it is going to be hot, I had a busy day yesterday in the garden, I am trying to get it into shape after nothing being done for almost a year. I have put artificial flowers in my pots and they look quite good. Sending a hug to anyone needing one. Will try and get back later.

Good morning

I hope everyone is ok

It’s beautiful here and warm already.

Linda I’m like you, I’ve always felt the cold but I’m definitely worse now. I’m still sleeping under a 15 tog duvet with teddy fleece duvet cover, pillow case and sheet. In my pyjamas.

Kathy your house looks lovely, but I can understand it might be cold in the winter.

Lucy enjoy Church, thankyou for the candles

Sandra you’re very well travelled. I’d never been abroad, until last year, I went to Scotland :face_with_hand_over_mouth::sweat_smile::sweat_smile:
Sorry Jane no offence meant. It was a standing joke amongst my friends

Siobhan I’m sorry your work isn’t going well. Are you due some time off?

Jo, Doreen, Lisa and Pete, please can you just let us know that you’re ok. We are getting quite worried about you

I hope everyone is ok this morning
I hope you all have a good day

Love and lhugs

Liz. When you are a consultant travelling comes with the job. Nearly got sent to Russia. Glad that one didn’t happen. Can’t choose. You go where you are sent and do what you are told. Mostly Europe for me. One business trip to New Jersey in USA and one to Czech Republic. Otherwise France, Germany, Holland and Italy were my main stomping grounds. Obviously all over UK. Never got sent to Australia although could have happened when I worked for Laura Ashley. Also went to Norway once.
You get fed up of airports, hotels and offices which is what a business trip entails. Not at all glamorous. You could be anywhere.

Think I have discovered why the top I have on only cost Ā£5. It’s orange which is not a colour I would normally wear. It fits over my hips when I stand up but doesn’t when seated and doesn’t stretch. Otherwise very comfortable and cool. Can’t return as bought it last year.

Some weeks he was also away working Monday to Friday. Mostly I flew home. Need to get washing done and so forth. He came out for one weekend to Paris. The hotel was great. Upgraded the room and gave us special treatment in the bar and restaurant. I also went to see him while he was away and I wasn’t. A long weekend in Athens and again just outside Amsterdam.

That must have been tough. I found it hard when drew used to go away one or two nights every week. It lasted about 18 months and we looked back and wondered how we coped for so long. The kids were relatively young.

Just part of the job. We used to e mail most days and spoke on Wednesdays by phone. Besides we would both be working long hours. When I was working in the UK on the Toys R Us project I was working 8 a.m to 3 a.m. 6 days a week to get the project done.

Used to be quite common in IT with a tight project deadline. The only reason we didn’t work on Sunday was I believed the team would work more efficiently with one day off. The other team working on a major supermarket at the same time slept on site and worked 7 days a week. I should say my boss at the time told me in a review I wasn’t working hard enough. I finished the project and left to go and work for Laura Ashley. My expected hours there were 9 to 5. Never did those hours. Normally 8:30 to 6 ish. But my choice.

I should also say it was only for 6 months but had to have project complete by November or shops couldn’t open.
