So many bats out there tonight. Very reassuring to see them after having the trees pollarded, as I was worried the tree surgeon had disturbed the roost.

Linda2 such lovely words. Warmed my heart.

Thanks to you and Kathy for sharing about if you dream or not.

Maria sounds like you had a good day and have a lovely relationship with Thomas.

Kathy I didn’t say you were nuts but if the name fits :joy::heart:

Just finished reading a book. It was a lovely story and involved chess. I don’t play but drew did. But the love story made me think of drew and me. Because the girl was scared of trusting someone but she found true love and that was me with drew. Miss him so dearly.

Got back from church meeting about 9.30 and just finished my salad and coffee. So tired so I think I’ll be off to bed soon.
Sandra I expect you’ve already gone to bed, hope you have a better night tonight. I’ve heard of muscadet but don’t remember having any. What’s it like?
Like you I have salad on two days after my shop then go onto veg.
Siobhan I do envy you being able to read a book. I used to love reading. I am trying now with audio books and am on my second one. Peanut butter and jelly….absolutely not!
My dreams are never nice. I’d prefer not to dream at all. Most nights I don’t remember but when I do they usually upset me.
Ooh Linda I’d love a chip butty. Not had one for ages.
Linda 2 this group is great isn’t it. So good to be able to talk about how we’re really feeling.
Maria I don’t call that shopping treating yourself either but I do remember getting really excited about having bought a new floor mop .
Hoping Jo and Doreen are ok. Not heard from them for ages.
I’m off to bed. Sleep well all. Xx

Hi Siobhan
I think we Brits get confused with peanut butter and jelly

Your jelly is our jam. Jelly here is a simple dessert we hsve with ice cream, certainly not in a sandwich.

I haven’t tried a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But I do like it with chocolate ie peanut butter Kit Kat, and Reeces

I.once said I could live on peanut butter. I’m afraid it’s something else I’ve gone off since Roger died.

I do dream of Roger, although I haven’t for about 3 weeks. Which coincides with the new tablets I’m on that make me sleep very deeply so I maybe don’t remember them

I have had signs too, but not for a while

Big hugs

Morning all. Warm already this morning and very warm overnight but slept better.
Lucy. Muscadet is a French dry white. One of my favourites. Had a small carafe every night whilst working in Paris.

Morning everyone. So hot! Difficult to keep the house cool in a heatwave. Wordle in 5, brain is still asleep.

My bungalow stays relatively warm in the winter and relatively cool in the summer. Window open already. Leaving blind down in bedroom as sun blasts in there in the afternoon.

Regulating the temperature in a wooden house is not easy! boiling in summer and freezing in winter.

Morning all,

I slept well last night maybe because I kept windows open. But some alarm was going off for ages this morning. I was going to go for a walk but decided to rest instead.

I woke up to alot of missed texts from my 3 friends in USA. One of their daughters got engaged. Am happy but also made me sad because the wedding will probably be next year. Which is when they were going to maybe visit me so that’s not going to happen. I didn’t expect it to go ahead but held out hope. Plus my friends daughter had told me she was going to get married in California where she lives so I probably won’t go because it’s going to be too expensive.

Sandra I like muscadet too but haven’t had it in a long time.

Morning all.

Thanks Sandra. I like white wine but Chardonnay usually. Not quite so dry. How long did you work in Paris? Did you live there for a time?
Morning Kathy. Our flat gets hot too. We have sun most of the day because our lounge is triple aspect and the sun works its way round through the course of the day.
I didn’t know you lived in a wooden house. Is it like a lodge or an older build?
Siobhan sorry you won’t be able to go to the wedding, it’s a shame. It is expensive to travel. If you managed the fare could you stay with friends while you were there?
Don’t forget you have a baby to look forward to. Sorry I’ve forgotten when it’s due.
Liz hope you slept well.
Hope our missing members are ok. Off to church this morning. Will light a candle for all.

It’s a Walter Segal self-build design (very common in Sweden and some parts of the US) and was all we could afford when we got together.

Kathy your house is lovely.

Lucy - no friends live out there. I could share an air b&b but it would be a lot to spend. I can’t think about going as I want to move first.

I worked Monday to Friday for 6 months in Paris. Stayed in Holiday inn. Mostly used metro and tram to get to office I was working in. That project then moved to Germany so worked another 6 months again Monday to Friday in Homburg. A town half way between Luxembourg and Frankfurt. My French and German both improved although project language was English so spoke English most of the time.

Love it.

We looked at an older wooden house. The house was lovely but on a very busy road.
No good with cats,

Morning all,

I managed to get 7 hours of sleep!
Mr F would not come in the evening.
So he came in , with some coaxing, not long after I woke up.
He had a three course breakfast including chicken yoghurt.

He is now sleeping on the back of his armchair.

It is sunny and a bit windy.

I am about to turn off the fire. It was still dark when I woke up and a bit chilly.
I now seem to feel the cold more.
I looked it up and this can be an effect of grief and anxiety.

The US food I haven’t tried but don’t get is, syrup on bacon as in a breakfast thing.
I don’t know how common that is.

Time for tea and puzzles.

Love and hugs everyone xxxx

Sandra was norman with you too?

Linda I never had syrup on my bacon so not all Americans. I am with you on that one!

Was stressed after 15 mins at work because I felt a senior manager was rude about a situation involving me. Plus a meryibwas meant to have this morning about a project o on is being moved. I wanted to ask questions plus someone didn’t let me know they wouldn’t be attending!!
Took a 5 mins break to walk in the park. Have calmed down now

No. Norman wasn’t with me. We worked for different consulting companies. Occasionally Chinese walks were necessary if 2 companies going after same client. I was working for Deloittes.
