I read with empathy of so many recent loses … I’m coming up to 3rd year of losing my husband of 42 years and partner of 50. Three daughters and four grand-children, a wonderful life living overseas but came back to UK 16 years ago. A home filled with items that bring back memories … but I am still feeling lost and wondering who I am now. I’ve been a wife now a widow, I will always be a mother, sister, grandmother. Compounding my loss, my youngest sister died 3 days before my husband … a double whammy. One tries to to ‘get on with it’ because you don’t want to be a burden to anyone but inside my sorrow is still raw. I got an English bulldog in the first year and a second one last year and this has distracted me but it’s just that, the hollowness is still there. I’ve tried therapy and find it doesn’t help much. I’m quite spiritual and am finding a psychic far closer to help which is bizarre. But there is nothing wrong as the same way nothing is 100% right. Is there anyone else in the same position?

Dear Wendy,
welcome to a club that nobody wants to be a member of.
Losing one’s most beloved person, one’s soulmate is an absolute nightmare.
The experience of grief is different for each person having to fight this traumatic struggle.
My beloved wife Fanny is still with me, we always walked hand in hand.
I know that Fanny and me will be reunited forever in Heaven.
It’s important for all of us to be kind to ourselves and to take good care.
Our beloved ones are watching out for us from Heaven.
Please take care of yourself!
Kind regards - Joe
