CREATING A SHRINE FOR MY MAM

Hi everyone
Just on my way home from an incredible show and finally got to catch up with one of favourite stagey friends afterwards . She was amazingly lovely and soon recognised me from my Instagram profile where I chat to her. Will post pics later when I’ve cooled down a bit :wink:

Evening everyone
Here are some pics from this afternoon.
I had a brilliant upgrade on my seat and got a great seat in the stalls which was a great start to the afternoon.
Met several of the cast and got loads of autographs.

I’ve met quite a lot of stagey people but the ones I talk to the most and are friends with on social media I haven’t as yet met .
That all changed today when I met the gorgeous Ashley Shaw. She recognised me as well ! Such a great dancer( she was in the lead female role) and a truly lovely person just as I knew she would be . Really happy to meet her at last !

Hi everyone you certainly have all been busy today.

I can’t believe your neighbour @christine51, he definitely not right in the head, I would be tempted to accidentally water the garden with a hosepipe and squirt him. You need your cameras up to get evidence for the council.
I think father Christmas needs to get you a new wheelbarrow or a pump for the wheel. Pleased you managed to get your swimming session booked with your niece. I can’t remember the name of my rambling rose, I thought we kept the labels in a tin in the shed but I can’t find them. Porscha is very cute and some lovely pictures of your garden.

Hope you and your daughter enjoyed the film @nicnic, my granddaughter and her boyfriend have gone to see it today too. I love your memory box, I have one for Doug, it’s a Harry Potter box, he absolutely loved the film’s. I have loads of things in it that remind me of him but no lock if hair, I have the next best thing a baseball cap he always worn.

@Suzanne30, love the wildlife photos, hope you enjoyed the film this evening.

I’ve never been to Royal Albert Hall @NEILB72, but looks a very impressive building on the outside. Nearest I’ve seen of the inside is last night of the proms on TV. You are certainly well known amongst the performers.

@Beki, everyone needs a friend like yours to stand up for your rights, you do have to be firm with doctors receptionists. Having said that mine doctors are very good you can always get an appointment the same day. Your getting the gardening bug now, keep it up.

Hi @Tina19, hope Zoe hadn’t been keeping you up all hours of the night.

My day has been ok, alway have a bit of a lay in on Saturday’s. Did have a bit of a mini meltdown at lunchtime, I was watching silent witness while having lunch, just sobbed at the end. Sat in the garden most of the afternoon then went to a quiz night at my daughter’s church. We came third an improvement on the last one we went too.

Have a good Sunday everyone, after church I need to cut my grass and then I’m going to watch a soapbox derby in the park followed by dinner at our eldest granddaughters.

Sending love Debbie X X

Hi Suzanne,
Whatever the reviews it’s only a persons opinion so it really doesn’t count. Sure you’ll enjoy it. Wish I could go to the cinema. I’m so claustrophobic. Think the last film I seen was ‘Natural Born Killers’. Brilliant but ancient now.
Porscha is such a pretty girl but fierce when she wants to be.
Today was a bonus in getting out there. So pleased I got the figs finished. Hope they ripen. I always leave the leaves on for shade when it’s really hot. Never tasted figs. My strawberries are so sweet.
Have a good night and will catch up tomorrow after my swim (hope I can get into my cossie!)
Lots of love xxx

What are the first ones? Recognise the Jay and love the squirrel. Miss my birds and squirrels since I had to stop feeding them because of the rats.

Hi Neil,
So pleased you enjoyed it. Knew you would and fab news on the upgrade. That ceiling is amazing!
I think it’s really wonderful that you have got to know the dancers on a friendship level. It must make it even more special going to see the performances. I do envy you being able to go, being transported to another world. Makes the not so great moments during the week more bearable because you have something wonderful waiting for you. Keep going!
Looking forward to my swimming and I’ll let you know how I got on. Hope I’m not too rusty. It was pre covid when I last swam. Hope all that gardening has kept me supple.

Hi Debbie,
Today was a real bonus. The creep doesn’t usually leave on a Sat. and I got a big job done with the fig tree leaves. If you want to see what sums up the creep watch the trailer for ‘The greasy strangler’ That’s how odd he is. I have the camera’s to put up and just haven’t done it because I hate fiddling about with technology. It’s such a faff. I’ll do it tomorrow after swimming. Really looking forward to it.
Hoping my car tyre pump will do the wheelbarrow though I dragged it around the garden so much I’ve prob buggared up the wheel. Much of the hard work is done so might just use it as a planter.
I wish I had such an active social life with all your church things and quizzes. Makes me realise I have to try harder to get out and do stuff. The swimming is a start and bike rides through the park are next. Have to push myself. It’s so easy not to bother and hide at home.
Enjoy your Sunday. Hope the creep doesn’t follow me tomorrow. I never leave the house when he’s at home.
Lots of love xxx

Hiya Christine:)
Just to quickly answer as I’m just in and must be up early for work lol x the first picture with the two birds are greater spotted woodpeckers…a baby being fed by it’s parent but hard to tell if it’s the mother or dad because can’t see the back of its head (males have a red spot at back whilst mother is totally black) x
And the bottom one is a nuthatch…think female as doesn’t appear to have a pink front like the males usually do x
Let us know how your swimming goes :green_heart: x

Hi Christine
Hope your swimming went well. Look forward to you telling us all about it. Hopefully it has made you feel better in yourself.
I did have a little chuckle to myself in one of your posts ( not sure who it was you were speaking to) when you compared the creep to The Greasy Strangler. That was just how I imagined him !
Speak soon
Love and best wishes

Hi all :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Lots of great photos to look through.

I am nursing a hormone headache, day 3 so am slowing down today staying hydrated and moaning!

My friend has t been staying overnight and to be honest that is fine. Am peeved though as was going to go with her today to visit an open day at an Alms house for women only which her friend is shortly moving into. A really interesting old property and concept since the 1600s. Little apartments for single women of limited means. I think it’s the type of thing the country needs more of. I suppose retirement villages are trying the same community feel but at an astronomical cost. There was going to be crafts and a raffle so peed off to miss those!!

Went to Dunelm yesterday or as Mum used to call it Funelms - her favourite shop. Lovely to go and it not upset me, far from it I just know she’d love me still going (not sure the bank account agrees!)

And got what I want - a terrarium. Want to have a plant in the front room but the blind cat has a habit of nibbling on them (real or artificial) and it doesn’t always make for the easiest exit and her other end - let’s not dwell on that!!

The succulent on the right is the last plant I bought mum and the one on the left is one a neighbour brought me after mum passed. So hopefully they will like being sat in there and protected from the cats. The pebbles are some I found we’d kept for some reason and some glass beads.

Looking forward to reading everyone’s updates today and gentle hugs to you all. So pleased to have found this group

Hi Beki
Glad your trip to Dunelm didnt upset you. A good sign . I got upset the other week when someone came towards me pushing a wheelchair and was thinking of Mum . Yesterday after the show I found myself chatting away to a man in his wheelchair and Mum didnt even cross my mind. Probably because I dont associate Mum with being at the venue.
Hope you can have a good /better week ahead
Love and best wishes

Friend not able to visit today. Reckon the festival might start getting heavy and I am just sat here nursing my headache anyway.

Just had a sudden wave of sadness/apprehension come over me. Think because it is Monday tomorrow and will be doing some work. It’s silly as it’s one day at a time but there is something about a Sunday evening and thinking of the whole week ahead etc isn’t there!

Hi Beki.
Very understandable that you have that feeling of apprehension. I still get it some days if I look too far ahead . That’s where counselling has helped by trying to stay in the moment and one day at a time.
I still get those moments of dread and fear but not so much although I know they are always there ready to strike.
Sending love and best wishes

Hi Christine
Yes really lucky with the upgrade. I looked on the website earlier and I was upgraded to a seat worth over £50 more. I seem to get quite lucky when I go to the theatre. Met so many lovely people and instant friendships were made, one in particular.
How have things been today and how was your swimming?
Love and best wishes
