Neil the film looks good and just my cup of tea. Will wait for it to come onto prime or Netflix though. Job applications sound good. I had uc on my back as didn’t get paid much last month but I went back to work yesterday for a few hours. It was ok. Few tears in the morning though.
I hope everyone is ok in the heat. Work was horrible yesterday and was sweating like a pig. Was nice when I had to put the milk away so stood in the chiller for a minute!
There is a brand new co-op opened close by which is my local convenience store so I’ll keep my eye open for those. Still don’t get how they cross the road though. The mind boggles!
Hi Nic
The film is very good although it’s more of a thriller than out and out horror really.
Glad you managed to get through that first day back at work . It must have been very hard for you but you did it !!
Hope today is a good one for you
Love and best wishes
Neil x
One of my friends at work said she went to our co-op this morning, and there were eight of them waiting to go out the store. She said one said " I am working "
I am going to have to try a delivery, I will let you know if I do.
Debbie x
My friend was saying that there some sort of new Saw film coming out…dunno if it’ll be horror or not as last few were very poor and predictable imo but may still go see it x
How’s you today? Will your friend phone tonight as usual? x. Weather up here a bit overcast today but still too hot for my liking but the again I think the North Pole would be too hot for me at times lol x
Any word from any of those job applications? If not o wouldn’t be too concerned as I know how long it takes my company to get it’s act together x
Have you not tried or got Zoe a head halti (head harness) as that should stop her pulling etc when she’s on the lead x don’t use a harness and/or extending lead in a dog that powerful cause she’ll pull you off your legs or rip your arm off x
Sorry to read you’re feeling down…anything any of us can do to help? xx
Hello
Thanks Suzanne for asking if there’s anything anyone can do. Sometimes just a random thought triggers an emotional paralysis and you can’t seem to do a thing. I’m sure we’ve all been there. I just tend to hide away for a bit till I’m a bit less wobbly. Thanks for asking. Think it was a one-off when my Brother got flipped over by Zoe. He said his phone went flying so in reality he’s probably been talking to some “bird” (his terminology) and not kept his eyes on Zoe. Thanks for suggesting the harness thing though. I couldn’t take her out. My arm is still damaged from a simple game of tug six months ago so it would definitely take off with me holding the lead.
Christine, hope you are feeling ok both with your stomach and in general. I’m waiting for this single rose to open to see if it is actually fragranced. Next door started his 6 week holidays today. Thought it may have been today. I can hear him tinkering in the garden. That means I can’t swear at Zoe when she’s misbehaving. How is Porcha coping. Cold here right now.
Neil, the end of the week, hope you’ve something lovely lined up. The autocorrect came up with “lively” first, but I suppose that can apply as well!
Debbie was it you that said something about “the passage of time” Utterly true because you do feel you are mourning that as well. I bought my Husband a birthday card last week but unless I look it up or allow myself to think hard I couldn’t say how old for sure. To think of the time that’s gone is upsetting. It’s not so much an all consuming thought as such, but it’s never far away.
Hi Tina
I still buy birthday and anniversary cards too I very often buy something like solar lights for the garden, so Doug can see them.
Time is a strange thing, sometimes is moves slowly and just seems like yesterday that Doug passed and other times It seems to be moving further away from him.
I’m sure you feel that too, and with losing your mum so recently you are grieving two of the most important people in your life. Now you have found yourself in this strange new world, with your not very understanding brother and that is taking its toll on you.
I know your worried about walking Zoe next week while your brother is away. Just a suggestion have you thought about dog obedience classes. It would give you confidence with walking Zoe and meet new people. My friend told me having a dog to walk she meets and chats to other dog walkers, usually meeting the same people everyday.
If that’s a successful, see if there any brother obedience classes just a thought …
I know your feeling down at the moment we are here for you.
Had my most rubbish day in a while. Granddad staying till Sunday morning but today I have just been hit by what I call a grief quake. Just hit me firm in the stomach and total pain at missing mum. Lots of tears and still feel very weepy now after a few decent week. Its scary.
@christine51 hope you are feeling better ad your tummy has settled.
@NEILB72 what have you got plans for this weekend?
Hi everyone
How are we all on this very warm ( getting even hotter on Mon/Tue) Friday evening ?
Not had that great a week . Lots of doubts in my mind and should haves and what ifs that pop up every so often. Had another blow as my next door neighbours have moved out after 9 years due to them needing an extra bedroom. Cloe supported Mum and I then myself after Dad died and she was the one who picked me up from the hospital on that dreadful evening when Mum passed. Her fiancee’s grandad died on the same day and both funerals were the same day too. Just feels a bit sad that another part of my life has changed. Mum would have been sad to see them move out.
Looking forward to getting out tomorrow and going to see a play at the Bridge Theatre called The Southbury Child which is getting rave reviews . One of my favourite venues , modern with great seats everywhere. Much cheaper than the West End too!
Anyway that’s my Saturday sorted . Hope everyone has a good weekend as possible and hopefully stays cool.
Lots of love and best wishes

That’s not the nice neighbour with the wee child that seems to kind is it?
I know that feeling though. When someone pretty random died that knew mum I didn’t think much about it but latterly it seemed another link albeit tenuous to mum jute gone x and my friends son who mum adored is becoming a dad for the first time in August and mum won’t see his baby boy….just stuff like that…anyway not to focus on the negatives.
Not heard of this play either so look forward to your review and what’s it about? x
Yeah have heard the beginning of the week is meant to be torture weather wise and our air conditioning in the store remains broken until next week. Have told the boss that if it’s too hot I will be leaving…he thinks I’m joking…I am not lol x
Have a fantastic time at the theatre and brings you to a happier place for now and let us know how it goes x
Hi Suzanne
No this is a different neighbour . The one with the little boy lives upstairs. Just seems like its yet another change I have to adapt to.
The play I’m seeing is about a vicar ( who rather likes a drink) trying to deal with chaos going on around him with his family and friends . It’s just opened in London after transferring from Chichester. Love the Bridge as every seat is good, air conditioning and nice seat prices. Plus you see Tower Bridge as your view up close when you come out!
Will post a review and any pics when I get back
Have a good Saturday . Yes heat at record breaking levels on Mon/Tue ( supposedly) . We just cannot do heat or cold in this country and panic sets in
Sending love and best wishes

I didn’t work many hours this week but I’m pooped. Thursday wasn’t a great day and was quite weepy all day.
Neil, I’m glad you’ve got a play on and can’t wait to hear about it. I’ve not got much on this weekend. Will tidy the garden up a bit.
Debbie, I buy bits to go by mums bench and most of the flowers I’ve planted this year have been for her. She’d of loved my sweet peas and probably of been quite impressed as I’m normally not green fingered at all! She’d also be impressed I’ve not killed her orchid and it even seems to be budding….
Nic,
Doug loved sweet peas and I planted some near the garden seat he sits on. He never did get to see them he died just as the green shoots were coming through.
Work should get easier the more you go, I was very emotional the first few weeks I went back to work. The hardest thing is colleagues, some understand and talk as normal, other just avoided me as didn’t know what to say.
As for orchids well done, I love gardening but just can’t keep orchids alive.
Hope you and the girls have a good weekend, stay safe in the sun.
Love Debbie x
Hi Neil,
The play sounds interesting also a bit like the real life vicar that made it into the headlines this week.
I hope you have a good day at the theatre, the air conditioning alone will be very welcome.
You have had a very challenging week this week, I hope next week is more positive for you.
Have you heard anything back from your job applications?
I hope the next neighbour with be as nice as the one leaving, it’s hard when change happens.
Stay safe in the heat and look forward to seeing your photos later.
Sending love
Debbie X
Hi Christine, just checking you are okay, hope to hear from you soon. As I’ve told everyone else be careful out in the sun and stay safe.
Sending love
Debbie X X
Hi to Suzanne, Lucy and Beki.
You have all had challenging weeks, hoping next week is more kind to you all. Please stay safe in the heat and keep out the sun.
Chat to you all later.
Love Debbie X
Hi Debbie
Should be a good play. Sometimes nice going to see something that you dont know how its going to play out .
Bit early to hear about those job applications yet. Most of them I applied the day they were advertised so will have to wait for the closing date when companies start looking at the candidates. Hopefully start hearing from next week !
Hope you have a good Saturday.
Love and best wishes
