Keep checking. You never know what will come up. Have you tried contacting the dancers to see if they know where you can get tickets that aren’t on the main site booking? Always worth trying everything you can. Fingers crossed for you x
Awww Neil I didn’t even think that places like Cruse had bank holiday hours…would you be able to speak to the Samaritans today? x
I hope you get to your choice of show tomorrow but if not it may be because there is a better show waiting for you xx
No I’m quite reluctant to spend that much on a rose that I will in all honesty probably kill lol x
Sorry you only getting out today but what zombie movies you watching just now? xx
Hi Suzanne,
Just watching a few Gav and Stacy. Hilarious. It’s like being with old friends from years ago. Zombie Warz: Falls the shadows and Eyes of the Dead. Was ok. Filled in time. Just waiting for Gardner’s World. Have avoided even opening the back door because the anti social crew get louder in the street as soon as I do. Better to just stay inside. I hate hiding and having no life. It’s like I’m already dead. But if I did have a party I’d be so upset mam wouldn’t be there so there wouldn’t be any point. Got upset earlier for no reason at all.
Enjoy your thing tomorrow. Bet all the badgers are peeping at you through the grass!

Evening everyone
Plans made for tomorrow. Weeks ago I planned to see the Jubilee concert at the Royal Festival Hall but recently I didnt think I would enjoy it as it would keep reminding me of Mum as she loved anything with the Queen. I changed my mind again this week but due to me hesitating only expensive tickets left so now kicking myself.
Anyway I have a lovely afternoon ahead watching my Royal Ballet friends performing new work Like Water For Chocolate and Yasmine leading a lovely cast . Because of the early timing I wouldn’t have even considered going to this if Mum had been here so that makes it easy for me to go there.
Hope your Saturday is as good as it can be for you all.
Love and best wishes
Neil x
Pic with Yasmine outside ROH back in November. Smiling here but only five days later Mum passed away. It seems like it was a previous life with hardly any worries x
Hi everyone,
@christine51, lovely bird photos, I do still feed the birds and managed to keep any rodent infestation away. I get sparrows, blackbirds, bluetits, turtle doves, pigeons, starlings, jackdaws, occasional magpie and often red kites flying over. The starlings with their babies make such a racket and the pigoens make me laugh such scattie birds, Doug used love watching their romantic advances to each other on the roof tops.
The baby blackbird has gone @Suzanne30 , can’t see it in the garden anywhere.
I like any of the children’s films, from Bambi to Frozen.
But I’m am a big Harry Potter fan, also like Fantastic Beast, been to the studios loads of times, last time was with Doug.
Science fiction is another favourite.
I’ve only just got back home at 8pm, been out since noon, we had a lovely BBQ and then afternoon tea. We had a gazebo set up on the large lawn area in front of our bungalows. Not many of the neighbours went only about twenty of us, it was enough and not too overwhelming. The neighbour I took with me enjoyed it, we were gone so long her husband thought she had left him and came looking for her. I’ve eaten so much today I’ll think I will pop.
I hope the day hasn’t been so hard for the rest of you, I know you have found it a difficult day Christine. At least I don’t have any noisy parties going on near me .
Have you decided on a show for tomorrow @NEILB72 , hope you enjoy London. Just saw you going to a ballet, have a good day.
What a lovely neighbour @Beki to tidy your garden for you. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
@Tina19 & @nicnic hope you are both okay.
It’s been a long tiring couple of days, definitely going to have a lazy day tomorrow.
Debbie X
You all inspired me!
So this is just part of how my garden had gotten - overgrown with brambles, self seeded trees, lawn not mowed for 2 years
(upload://73PEtwdiRiE3GdLm2AVrJJxZmO4.jpeg)
Still a massive jungle around the corner behind the garage etc but what a start!
So was inspired to bother watering and feeding the plants I have done around the back door and Matilda my craft caravan (grandad and I tidied this up a few weeks back)
After moping the day away find my neighbours has removed loads of the dead trees, all the brambles, cut back shrubs and found the lawn!!
Jubilee wise I am not doing anything and in honesty even if Mum were here we’d have probably just watched some on the tv and excuse for more cake! Still makes me feel very lonely and out of it
@Suzanne30 perfect t-shirt!!
@NEILB72 have a great trip tomorrow
Much love to all!
Best, Beki
What a lovely neighbour to have tackled the jungle, let’s hope they continue to help you with it X
Hello to all the lovely people on here!
I have lost count of the many messages I have started late at night to you all and then fell asleep midway and they never get sent so half the time I think I have mentioned stuff that I havent and said stuff that I cant remember saying. Cant blame it on being “blonde” or the menopause so I must just be going bonkers.
One thing I have to say is that I love everyones photos. Being nosy must also be an age thing but photos really do bring things to life dont they. Neil that is a nice photo. Do you ever get stars that arent so cooperative?. Love the T shirt Suzanne, it made me laugh.
Its very quiet on our road, maybe its the calm before the storm, and the quieter the calm the bigger the storm. Maybe the drizzle put a dampener on things or they are saving it all up for the weekend.
Today at 7.00am I decided to walk to B and Q. I got my 10,000 steps in as its 4mile round walk. Cant believe I got two roses and a big pack of cherry breeze patio strawberries. Each rose and the strawberry pack should have been £9.00 each so I got £27.00 worth of plants for £7.20. It was raining as I walked home but it was kind of nice as I must have been one of the few people out on a bank holiday at that time of morning! Brother working every day so I havent really noticed its been the jubilee thankfully. Didnt tell my brother Id bought 3 plants and I potted them up before he got back. He doesnt like me having plants. Thats showing my devious streak! Its all bittersweet though as Id have raced back to show them to Mum and she would have enjoyed seeing them but now there is noone. I sent my Sister a picture but they are no biggie really to anyone else. Its all one massive distraction, as Im sure things are for all of us for time to time. Every now and again my mind will look around expecting that everything has been temporary but then when reality jolts you back into line you just think what is the point and how long can someone manage in such a limbo state. Its like having a foot in the past and a foot in the future. Its awful and its exhausting mentally. Thats enough of me going on anyway.
Ive enjoyed catching up with everyone and Im always interested in everyones stories. I often think of you all.
Will check back in tonorrow.
Much love xxx
Oh Debbie I’m so pleased you went and enjoyed it. And glad it wasn’t overwhelming. I’m glad today is over. Haven’t watched any of the Jubilee on tv but do feel like I should because I feel so separate from the world. Nobody has contacted me. It’s like I evaporated when mam left. Porscha enjoyed her garden though. Have a lazy day tomorrow. You deserve it! Proud of you for going.
Lots of love xxx
Hi Neil,
So pleased you got something sorted at last. If you had bought your ticket and then not gone it would have been a waste so getting a late ticket was the best option, whatever it cost. Enjoy it! I wish I was as brave as you all !
Lots of love xxx
I love your trees! You have a very private space to enjoy and once you get that grass mowed a few more times it will be a great space to enjoy. Well done for getting your plants watered. You’ve made a great start and your neighbour deserves a real treat for his work. You are lucky to have such wonderful people around you. It will be nice for your grandad to stay with you. He’ll be as heartbroken as you are. One step at a time gets you through the day. I’m hoping my creep goes out tomorrow so I can get out and have a tidy up, rescue my bulbs (they really are playing on my mind) and pot on my tiny plug plants. Keeping busy is best for me but watching films is getting really boring now. Keep thinking of mam dressing up in her hat for the jubilee. Wish life was normal again and we were having a bbq at the old house. Things will never be normal again.

Hi Tina,
I know it’s very late or very early but I just wanted to say how pleased I am to see you here. Always think of you. I’m back in calm waters again after an awful time of it. Still cried today and finding it really hard. Avoiding Jubilee tv but don’t think I can really do another horror film. Just want this holiday to be over.
Lucky girl with those great bargains! Your brother has such a cheek. What is it to him if you buy plants? I don’t know why he has any say in what you do and why your new plants effect him? He’s so controlling. I love them and as you know I do take an active interest in all things garden. I picked and ate my first strawberry. It was so very sweet, not at all like in the shops. I’ve done mine in hanging material baskets to stop them being eaten. So far so good. Yours look really healthy plants. Your mam would be very proud of you and I’m amazed at your steps! Still need to set up the wii for a jog. Just got no interest.
Will catch up again tomorrow. I have such a headache from being on the laptop so much.

Hi Tina
Lovely to see you post . Thanks for posting the pics. Whatever we choose to share on here always brightens the day.
You’re right when you feel as if you’re in limbo . I think we all feel like that . As you say reality then sets in . What we are all doing is definitely trying to distract from reality but as time goes on the healing will hopefully grow and we can have more better days.
As for the pic , no everyone has been really nice who I have met. Most I chat to anyway on Insta and Twitter so I usually know they will be nice.
Hope the rest of the weekend is kind to you.
Look forward to speaking again soon.
Love and best wishes

Enjoy today Neil! Maybe take a brolly.
Hoping the creep goes out but I doubt it. So frustrating to have so much planting to do and I can’t get out there. Hoping a fence will stop him watching me and commenting because he won’t be able to see. Just need word back from the council.
Will you visit the lovely church when you are out today? And a gallery? If you can make a day of it you’ll be carried along on a wave of being in the moment and get you through to evening.

Hi Tina,
Woke up early to the strangled cry of Porscha wanting her warmed up chicken, to be softened and hand fed like she is a very precious thing. So spoilt! I have to sit feeding her while I have my cuppa. Its the only way I can be sure she will eat something. She’s off out in the garden but it looks like it will rain. Want the creep to buggar off so I can get out there and plant up the huge amount of plug plants. Don’t want the heat of summer arriving before they’re in. Won’t do it again. I’ll look for mature plants like you have. Beki’s garden is huge. I would certainly have a large greenhouse if it was mine. I have too many trees to have one where the shed was. Going to make that a summer meadow with a small pathway around the edge to get to the bed surround.
Might be brave and try rescuing the bulbs in pots at the side of the house. Maybe he won’t see me there. What he needs is a jingling bell to warn me he’s lurking. I’ve never known a person to be so quiet. He’s sinister.
What will you do today? Zoe is so lucky to have you at home. Porscha has separation anxiety when I leave the house, which is only once a week.
Have you visited your mam again? Dad will be going up north with mams ashes after his holiday. Not sure now whether having a little bit of mam will be too distressing or a comfort to have her in the garden at the secret door (did you see my pics of the old shed door added to the top fence corner?)
Still haven’t heard from anyone. I cannot describe the loneliness I feel. Mam phoned me everyday and I would update her on whatever I was doing throughout the day. Without her there is nothing. It’s so true that whatever we do it is simply a distraction and reality keeps hitting and I’m back to feeling like an abandoned child. I cannot imagine a lifetime of this. I don’t see the point.
Keep posting.

Hi Christine
Hope you can get out and the creep buggers off. It will make you feel so much better. He sounds a very unpleasant individual.
Will be leaving late morning and will be visiting the National Gallery again as there is a mini Picasso exhibition opened this week and one of the paintings has come over from the US. Will see that first then off to Covent Garden from the ballet. Not staying too late as the crowds will be huge later. I will hopefully time it so I can see the delayed coverage of the Derby at Epsom when I get home.
Hope you can manage to get outside . Been raining here and windy so might put a dampened on the jubilee concert later.
Sending love and best wishes

Enjoy your volunteering today! Look out for those badgers. I’m sure they’ll be inquisitive for the new person, watching from afar. It’s very dull here and forecast rain. Going to try to get some bulbs taken out of pots and pot some plants out out of large tub ready for the garden. Oh the joys of being ‘middle aged’! Never thought I’d be so ‘normal’.
