to find some comfort, I started going to the places me and my most beloved husband used to go together, so I sat in our Mexican restaurant last week. my plushie rat was sitting next to me and my phone with a picture of my dearest husband was on the table, so he can sit with me and I can talk to him the way we always did… Later on a group of older people took a seat at the table near me, talking and laughing about not important things that made me so upset, that I left after finishing a meal and drink…

Hi Janka, I am the opposite, I cannot go to any of the places we used to go together regularly, I find it too triggering, luckily Norm never went to the nature reserve that I go a lot to, I just carry his photo in my pocket. But yes, when anyone starts on about all the trivial small stuff, I need to escape. BTW, what`s a plushie rat?!

Same thing applies to me.
It’s way too hard for me yet. Maybe there will be a time when I will be able to do that again but I’m afraid that quite a bit of time will have to pass before I’ll be able to bear that.

I am 8 months into the grief journey, I can’t go to any places I went with my husband. My husband and I often used to go out for coffee and cake. I haven’t been able to touch cake since . I had my first piece since he passed away last weekend.

Hello Joe that is so sweet. Those blushes 
are adorable. I gifted my husband a gorilla before we even got married. So about 37years ago. He thought it was odd at first, he didn’t notice it right away, but the gorilla was wearing a gold necklace with a cross. Boy did he smile after that , he wore that necklace for the rest of his life, and now I have that gorilla on my bed. God bless
