I can understand the intense feelings. Our eldest grandson - who my husband adored - was just 9 months when my husband died. They had just told us two days prior to the accident which took my husband that they were expecting their second baby. He was born in April and I cried when they brought him home because of what my husband will never see.
In addition, my husband had a strong gene pool - our son looks so much like his dad and the grandsons are little ‘mini-mes’ of their dad and granda right down to the curly hair. Bittersweet.
