Thank you @Helen39 I am having such a lovely time it proves to me that you can turn this horrible situation around. I know it doesn’t make it better but it does help heal my heart and proves I can keep swimming.
I also saw my red kite which I believe is Vic’s spirt telling me it’s okay

It’s great that they have kept this as a museum. I don’t think there are many pits left now. Such a shame that the whole industry disappeared along with the wonderful communities around them.
I hope you and John have more adventures planned. Your very lucky to have all of this to view anytime you choose. I’m sure your Vic is watching you in your adventures and I’m sure he’s proud x

Helen the Big Pit was really interesting. The time spent underground was a bit iffy at times, especially for someone of my mature years. For safety reasons we weren’t allowed to take phones, cameras or in fact anything with a battery so unable to film anything.
There was lots of stopping down involved to avoid hitting your head , so my bad back is playing up tonight.
The place is well worth a visit if you are ever in the region. I’ll load a YouTube video of the various pics we took tomorrow. In the meantime…

After another day out today, I’m going to rest my old body tomorrow.

I put up some curtains on the front door, getting ready for winter as it’s made it nice and dark at night. Almost as dark as the mine. 
Didn’t get up till 9.20, so having an easy day after going down the mine yesterday. Doing some work on videos.
