My main hobby, ever since the late 50s has been music and playing guitar. I have been lucky to have had a long relationship with members of my 60s band and even more lucky to still be playing the occasional gig with most of the original members.
We never hit the big time, but have had lots of great experiences supporting major bands in the 60s and also getting on Telly since we reformed in 2013. Here’s a clip of us playing in Belfast for a BBC show. Please excuse the language. It’s Rhod Gilbert not me.

He’s a really nice bloke. We spent a few hours with him and Midge Ure in Dec 2015 and a couple of days in Belfast in Jan 2016.

Apart from music, I used to do a fair bit of running, primarily when in the RAF.
I was never that quick, the fastest for a half marathon was 1 hour 36, but I ran 4 London marathons and also the New York one.
When age started to catch up on me, I took up walking instead. I’ve done the approx 200 mile Coast to Coast twice and several smaller walks. I still try to get out walking, but at my age it’s a struggle to keep up with the younger ones. @Heartbroken12 take note

Yes thanks to you I have climbed Twmbarlym with you and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will never take up running though

Incident this morning made me wonder whether I should take up car mechanics.
I had to nip into the main post office to get copies of various documents certified as true copies. I took the car out of the garage and turned engine off to shut garage door. Went back and the blooming car wouldn’t start 
Lots of warnings on the dash, so used the RAC app to report I had broken down. Remarkably they turned up in about 40 minutes. The mechanic was brilliant and immediately thought it was a flat battery, despite the dash warnings. He tested it and yes it was just about dead. It was the original battery so had lasted nearly 5 years, which was really good.
He changed the battery and the car started and all the warnings disappeared. Took him about 10 minutes.
I didn’t even have to pay for the new replacement battery as that’s included in my membership.
Ok, a car mechanics course would not make me self sufficient, but it may make me less anxious if I break down.

My Vic suggested to me to do a car maintenance course. I never did but you are right it probably would be a good idea for basic’s
