I read your posts and found them very reassuring. I’d love to learn more about mediumship. I’ve been on a similar trail since my dad passed 13 years ago. I’m trying to pluck up the courage to go and see a medium again. I’ve not seen one who gave any accuracy in all that time. I did see one before I’d ever experienced loss, and he blew me away. He gave me names, details, and told me things that would happen, plus things that had happened to my mum that I didn’t even know about. There is no way it was guesswork. Because of him and some experiences of my own, I do believe… I just need to know and see more now.

Each one of us is on our own souls journey and I guess we are all at different stages.
There comes a point in our lives when we start to question things and this is such a vast subject, that the very best place to start that journey is at your local spiritualist church.
There you will find people who have been communicating with spirit for years and they can guide and support you along your journey,
This subject is so vast , it can at times feel a little overwhelming and it is important you have a good support network of people who understand the subject whilst you are developing your skills , where you can practice in a safe place (ie be supported and not ridiculed) , with like minded people.
Mediumship is the most natural thing in the World .
it’s just the likes of Hollywood that have sensationalised it 
!!
There is an organisation called the spiritual national union and they have churches up and down the country - they are known as the SNU - look them up on Google.
The SNU Churches train mediums in their churches .
Most churches have a spiritual awareness class for beginners which explain the mechanics of how it works for a nominal fee of something like £2 or £3 per session and teach you to be compassionate and to give messages in a way that does not cause any anxiety to the sitter.
Mediumship is about healing first and foremost , if you are still grieving , messages from loved ones in spirit can make you very emotional , I remember in the early days , I cried many times in church when my family members came through to give me proof life continued.
There are always boxes of tissues around church to hand out 
I’ve used so many over the years I should have’ shares ‘ in Kleenex lolxx
I think that tearful release is also part of the healing process clearing the energy. Making us stronger and ready to move forward on a different chapter of our lives.
It’s very rare I cry now when my own loved ones come through and I’m no different to you . I still love to hear from them , they often make me smile , but sometimes it still brings a tear to my eye after all we are still human.
I love going to church with like minded people it’s like my second family, I’ve made many new friends and, everyone is so supportive of each other and willing to help you along your own personal journey and it’s really uplifting.
It’s so rewarding to see people start to heal and move along on their journey .
My loved ones in spirit are part of my spirit team helpers and it’s lovely to know they are with me and helping me.

It’s the 31st 
Less than a week 
I’m actually feeling scared now. I really feel like me believing or not depends on this reading. I’m praying it’s good.
Obviously I paid a lot of money for this reading but I’ve booked an appointment with a more reasonably priced medium for the day after my expensive reading just so I can compare the two. Neither of them know anything about me, they don’t know it’s my partner I need to connect with. Parents and grandparents are the easiest guesses so it will be interesting to see if any of them pick up on me losing my OH.
I can imagine him on the second one being like “oh ffs, what do you want again?” 
If it’s really true then I know I’m in for a bollocking about one or two things. There’s something in particular that he’d always tell me I’d be buggered with if anything happened to him and I have totally been buggered with it. I know for sure if he has a chance to then that’s probably going to be the first thing he’ll tell me off about because he’ll know that I’ll know it’s him if he mentions it.
I’m really hoping that if I get to the point in the reading where I’m absolutely convinced it’s him that he tells me he still loves me. It’s such a hard situation because there was no goodbye and that left me questioning our entire relationship. It’s so stupid but I can’t help how my brain works. This reading, if it’s good would be like a proper “goodbye”, it would be like an I love you, see you soon.
It would just make me feel like maybe life does have a purpose or a point to it and maybe it was his time. I’d look at death so much differently and more positively if I’m convinced of something more.
I told someone I knew that I’d booked two readings and she said perhaps we should leave the dead rest in peace. That really annoyed me tbh.
I’m sure if there really is anything after death that our loved ones would want to let us know they are still around. Nobody forces them to come through.
This girl has never lost a partner or a parent so it would be interesting to see of her opinion changes when she does or if one of her children tries to contact her when she dies

I have a friend who was sceptical until her auntie died who she was very close too, now she believes 
I had another weird thing this morning . I could feel something on my feet and thought the dog was lay on them , nope !!
When me & Bry went to bed he always put his foot on mine , I’d instantly pull my foot out & put it on his because I felt trapped . That’s just how it felt this morning still remaining sceptical until I see a medium that can give me something concrete like a nickname that they could never know about. I’ve come off Facebook too so there is no way they can nosey xxx

In my experience for what it’s worth they love coming through.
They love to bring you proof and upliftment xx
Some mediums will connect better to certain people , I’ve often wondered why our spirit friends chose to come through certain mediums and not others. Maybe they chose people who have similar values or experiences ??
I am really not sure.
Try not to get too disappointed if you don’t get the answers you are looking for.
Spirit can come out with sone bizzare stuff as proof I find and it’s not always what you are looking for.
My opinion is there are three peoples energy at play here the medium , the sitter and spirit… sometimes if one of the energies are off that day then communication can be more difficult.
We always say it’s a ‘ bit if an experiment’ as sometimes it will flow really well and other times not so well, but spirit are still there doing their best to communicate with us…

@Sally-Anne63 I went to a mediumship evening at the spiritual church with my friend. There was only 3 of us there. My friend is 72 and the other lady in her 70s. They both apparently had their parents come through. I didn’t get anything. I do wonder because of my age that they couldn’t read me as thought if anything I would of got a message from my husband who suddenly died. Maybe he doesn’t want to speak to me or maybe the medium was fishing with these 2 ladies and that was why the church was empty. I also heard that they can read your energy as that what apparently spirits are.
My Facebook is completely private so there’s absolutely nothing anyone can see on there unless we are friends so whatever happens during my reading I know for sure there’s no way they would have found anything online. This forum is the only place online that I’ve put information on.
Oh that’s lovely that you thought you felt him 
I wish more than anything that I could feel my OH. I still keep asking him to put the lights on or something but as yet he hasn’t done anything

Yes I actually thought myself that he wouldn’t want to be left to “rest in peace” I’m absolutely convinced he’d want to let us know he was OK if he could, that’s the reason I’m so sceptical because I’ve had no signs at all 
Up until week seven I thought my head was going to explode, I had this constant headache and pressure in my head so maybe I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to recieve any signs at that stage so hopefully soon

It’s really odd actually, I didn’t know anything about her until I came across one article about her. I hadn’t watched any of her videos or researched her at all when I first booked her. I just saw she had a five year waiting list and she had one express slot available so I booked it quickly. It felt so right at the time despite not knowing anything about her. After booking her I didn’t actually feel the need to look into her, it was too late then anyway
I did look at a couple of videos the next day and she has such a lovely presence, she seems like a genuinely lovely lady so I felt like I’d done the right thing. It felt right and I’m wondering if that was for a reason

@Ali29 I don’t actually… I haven’t advertised myself like that. I am a spiritualist medium , we give our time free for church and do services. But mainly it’s just people who come to church and the odd one asks for a private reading … but I don’t go on the advertising platform if you know what I mean and do the psychic fairs and tout my wares lolxx more for me about service and the healing that it gives people and in truth I struggle to charge for that, as I think , well it should be a free service… I did set up an events company where I’m looking to arrange psychic suppers and I have a team of really good mediums from church that are willing to help me , but it was just a hobby …, well until yesterday, when I lost my day job 
, so now it may have to be a professional thing if I can’t find another job , as I have bills like everyone else. But my original plan was to go out to the people , like pubs and restaurants and cafes , sort of doing it for a nights entertainment , but also with a real message too , about spiritual awareness and I kind of hoped after listening to us and hearing the evidence , that hopefully people would be changed by that experience and start on their own spiritual journeys. If they ended up walking through the church doors, then brill because I know from experience , that the doors of the church need to stay open , to help people who have just started their spiritual awakening or for people who are in deep grief . But people in general, I find people don’t go to church these days and I guess the as Harry Potter would put it ‘ muggles’ lol xx probably think spiritualist churches are scary things rather woo woo so would avoid at all cost ha ha!! but the same people would be happy to come to an Indian restaurant for a meal and get some messages , if you know what I mean lolxx

Hi Hazel yes it is just energy…I’m sure your husband will be around it may have been just that the lady at church wasn’t the right medium to bring him through.
Spirit usually come to us when we are in platform in church doing demonstrations, we don’t get to choose.
It is possible I believe to bring through a specific person if you give their first and second name and we can ask our spirit guides and our loved ones in spirit , to bring them through, but we can’t demand they come through , so in my experience it’s
Possible say 80% of the time for instance to bring that person through if they want to come through or are not tied up doing something else in spirit .
If you go again you may be more successful as they usually have different mediums doing the demonstrations.

@Sally-Anne63 This is so interesting. I have seen a very lovely Medium here in Belfast, he is also part of a Spiritual Church here, he has travelled all over, maybe you have heard of him? His name is Brian Lynch.
The reading he gave me was nothing short of amazing, I recorded the session and listen to it frequently! I’m planning on another visit in August.
Can I ask, when you connect to the other side, are they just the same as when they were in physical? I just wonder if souls get upset or sad leaving their loved ones behind? The reason for my question, my husband was so protective over me, and I know he couldn’t stand to see me so upset…
