Lost my gran and never got to say goodbye

I lost my gran in July few weeks before my son was born and somehow no one is understanding how I’m feeling
Not only that no one told me she had cancer in fact I felt like I’m not really part
Of the family after my son was born and after gran left

I’m sorry to hear about your gran. It must have been especially hard to lose her just before your son was born and without being able to say goodbye.

You are not alone - many of our members have experienced the loss of a grandparent and will understand some of what you’re going through. @Broken23 started this thread recently - maybe you can connect with each other?

Grandparent loss

I lost one of my grandparents in August then 43 days later my other grandparent also passed. I was extremely close to both - they were a second set of parents to me. This is the first / second major loss I’ve ever felt in my life. The pain I feel daily is unbearable. Sometimes I don’t want to be here myself but then feel guilty for feeling like that as it would destroy my kids and mum. I know everyone says it gets easier with time but the more time that passes the more it hurts …
