What a beautiful place Punto, who needs anything more than a good chair and view like that. You even have a couple of pet ducks.
Wishing you all the best

Where you have moved to looks lovely, you’ll be able to seat and watch the world go by . Even your dogs enjoying the view.

Its so nice. I have the red arrows that fly over most days and various jets as close to the RAF bases

It’s perfect, did it take you a long time to find? Now I see why you have a rocking chair on your balcony x

I wasn’t looking to move last year, but i came to the boat yard to look at boats with son and his family and commented how I could live there. That was in september then I d3cided to look and found this one in December, didnt view it and I was away in Germany in holiday, so son did a video call from the house on the Sunday offered monday 8th December and owned it 19th Jan. Had builders in for 3 weeks then moved in permanently 9th March. I just new it was what I wanted.

Good luck today Helen with your viewing, you will know if the house is right for you when it gives you a big hug feeling. Xx

I’m not sure it gave me a hug, just got back. It was what’s on my list but no character, no view, tiny garden surrounded by tall trees in neighbouring gardens. I know I can put my own stamp on it but there were things I couldn’t change. It’s over Ā£100,000 more than a house in the next road that needs work. I’ll go see that one I think.

Thank you for taking an interest x

Hi Helen, it all depends on what sort of work. If it’s cosmetic or structural unfortunately depending what needs to be done the money can go fast. I hope you fall for the next one.
All the best
Tom

Me too Tom but I’ve always had Stephen who could do anything. I’m going to have to find someone who can but will want more than constant cups of tea for doing it. There is a good builder in the village but being good also means they are always busy.

The right property is out there, I just need someone to want to sell it x

Hi Helen
Sorry your viewing didn’t go well, there’s a house out there with your name on it . Hope your next viewing goes a bit better.

Im on Burton Waters.

Lots to do and see but not the same when you are alone, I left all my friends and family to move here so its a new start for me.

Helen I had to have builders in as previously like you Rob would have done everything, be aware they aren’t cheap if you want it done properly.

Ive put my own stamp on the house so its what I wanted not anyone else’s and its worth it. Check what needs doing at the other house its cheaper by that much for a reason.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll book a viewing and hopefully my son will come this time. He’s just like his dad, can do anything and will know if it can be done and how much. I can ask, not sure he’ll come.

Your place looks amazing. I’m leaving amazing for who knows what x

You will find something that you love, dont settle on something unless its right for you. I was lucky my son found my house for me as I was buying one further up the road but this has a better garden.

Ive spent alot more than I wanted to get it how I wanted and still have my balcony to replace and bathroom to do over the next couple of years. Holidays are my main focus at the moment as love to have something to look forward to.

Burton water is lovely edge of lincoln. There’s a widow and widowers group sometimes do lunch at the pub/ restaurant at entrance.

I downsized but only moved a few miles away. Put my stamp on the place but brought some of my husbands things with me but displayed differently. He was a collector-his grandparents tin bath I’ve planted with herbs , carriage lamps I’ve had put up as wall lights, couple of his Lego models on display. Don’t want to wipe him away but it’s my time now.

Just ordered green house and got ground worker to quote for footings. I use small local tradesmen who want keep their reputation so do a good job at reasonable price. Like you my husband was practical so rarely needed tradesmen until he became disabled.

Enjoy your new life and home.

Thank you so much for your advice. Your new home is perfect, just what I’m looking for too. At the moment there’s nothing even slightly like it here on the market.

I’m going to book more viewings next week on anything that is a possibility, even just to rule them out will be something.

Good luck for Thursday x
